farmer will be ok
i wanna know is htf did tuck survive
post very stiff showed signs he just needs confidence and is a good back up ruck, great leap
-
I reckon Tucky should take a tattslotto ticket, his luck is in
-
Tuck was playing well before he got injured, he adds plenty of grunt. You would have to give him the benifit of the doubt this week but I recon he'll be better for the run last ;)
-
sheesh white. unlike most i reckon hes been ordinary.in fact id say we got almost as much out of helbig as we have white.
we lost a key forward in post who also backed up in the ruck and replace him with miller fair enough but we lose our best tall defender and replace him with white sheesh.
when are they going to give gourdis or astbury another go.
why do we stuff around with our structure so much.id like to see at the least one of astbury or post in the side if not both.
why do we play so many smalls with ordinary skills.
port with oshea and moore on the bench are really quite a tall side they go in with 9.
also up there in the humidity browne will need decent breaks this means vickery has to come out of the forward line. for a reasonable amount of game time.
i bet my bottom dollar port end up loading up their forward line with talls in an attempt to stretch us down back.

Ill be disgusted if we get beaten by a team including players with names like 'Jasper' and 'Alipate'. WTF sort of names are these?
-
Likewise Gaspar and Daffy
-
helbig shouldnt be playing seniors at this stage imo - looks way off the pace and raw.
I'd have kept Post in as cover down back and in the ruck over helbig.
-
I reckon Post for White is just a 'horses for courses' selection. Port aren't that tall and Marrara is a big ground = less height and more run. Don't think Post did too much wrong but then again the only reason White was out was injury. Miller for Grimes was a given. Farmer still in is interesting, they picked Nason with little match fitness and then ran him as a sub for a few weeks before putting him back to the 2's for extra fitness. Possibly going to do the same with Farmer - get him up to the pace of the game then back to the 2's for extra fitness. Be interesting to see how that plays out but overall I don't think there are any surprises or mistakes.

It is unlikely the humidity will be a factor

Why should he get the benefit when Post doesnt ??
-
Totally agree with Tiger From Tas. Tuck will be better for the run. Tuck is coming back from injury Post isn't. Having siad that I would have kept Post in. Don't believe there was a huge need to rush in White.
-
could be a number of reasons for that Jack.
could be that the coaching staff were happy with how tuck was playing before he got injured and are willing to give him leeway after missing a couple of weeks of football.
could be that for whatever reason they were unhappy with post's effort last week.
could also just be a structural issue - we need to improve out contested ball/clearances.
could simply be that tuck over the course has earned the privilege of getting that benefit, where as post still has to prove himself.
-
using your theory then, how on earth does Helbig get a game then ?
-
not a theory jack, just musings.
As none of us have an insight into what the coaches are asking of players all we can ever do is guess.
-
I reckon Tucky should take a tattslotto ticket, his luck is in
Agree I thought he really struggled
His problem IMHO was last week when he got the ball he had to actually stop and make a decision rather than just throwing it on his boot - got caught out with poor decision making and terrible disposal
Also, think Helbig is lucky as well, was well off the pace last week, almost "overawed" - again IMHO

thank you WP.
At least you watch the game

could be because he was shocking....

I don't get the big deal
Post came in for Miller who was ill so the positions swap back
White returns from injury, he replaces a tall most likely because the match committee want an extra runner for such a big ground in high heat, just happens to be that tall in Grimes is injured anyway
As for every one else, after the win we had is it such a surprise that they aren't making wholesale changes?

so tuck stays and fair enouigh especially if contested ball/clearances are a concern, but who did we bring in to help with contested ball/clearances.
-
who could we?
Hislop wont be far away. it's possible him and tuck could be vying for the same spot.
-
Mmmm, two talls out.... :-\

Mmmm, two talls out.... :-\
Agree. Two talls out, and we replace them with a tall and a small throwing out the balance of the side. It's not as if we have the tallest backline to begin with. Post was unlucky to be dropped, and should have taken over Grimes spot. White could have come in for any one of Tuck, Farmer or Helbig who were all fairly poor last week. As has been said, I hope Port don't stack their forward line and bite us on the bum.
-
Remember it's going to be 28 degrees and humid so a running team will bring more balance particularly later in the game
-
:lol
-
Not sure about all the knocks on Helbig ? Wasn't too flash last week but played well against Western the week before. He's got what Dimma likes. Good disposal and large cohunas.

Port have a short arse forward line anyway! Only two talls over 190. On paper we match up pretty even and to go one step further the total height of there forward line is 1125cm Exactly the same total height of our back line :o :o ;D I'm sure if they were to throw in another tall we would do the same to counteract.....

beware the heat of Darwin.
:lol
A DARWIN woman was diagnosed with hypothermia after a cold spell hit the Top End.
