Maybe a bit like rotating the deckchairs on the Titanic given the options left due to our lack of depth but anyway :-\.
Fire away .....
-
Shane Tuck

In - Contin, Jakobi, Dea, Connors :lol, Morton...

how about,"Whoever turns up gets a game!"
-
In all seriousness.
I'd drop Jack, Deledio maybe even Martin.
Give them the week off of a game at Coburg.
Bring in some rookies to face a depleted GC.
Will get absolutely nothing out of a sloppy 20 point win with a full side.
Let Conca, Helbig, Griffiths and co run the show without the big guns against GC. Earn the win with the kids.

you're a masochist .

I could see a rest for those guys but I don't see the point in trotting out your best players at Coburg. Guys at that level will get nothing out of Coburg, I heard them say tonight that Malthouse said he doesn't like to play his fringe players for more than 4 weeks at VFL level because it is dribble and they get into bad habits.

Sorry Pope, i just cant agree with this!

interesting comment by malthouse, specially considering they have their own vlf side and should have full control over it?

I think he was referring to the standard of the competition compared to AFL and the lack of similar pressure.

Be interested to see who Coburg have. A Port Melbourne or Collingwood in the VFL would be a harder game than GC up near the equater IMO.

Thats alright lol, just an idea.
I can't see much point having Deledio run free across half back against a bunch of kids and then the week after go missing against Geelong.
Would prefer to blow a rocket up him send him to the 2nds and say bring your A game against Geelong.

Ablett got subbed off 9 mins into the second quarter may not play next week.
Out Jackson Hislop
In Nason Morton
-
Tuck in to bully the gold tops' kids.
-
Hmmm A Gary Ablettless gold coast defeating the tigers in Cairns
It could easily happen i believe if we are not menatlly prepared to punish them
-
Outs: Hislop, Jackson, Thursfield, Grigg ( had enough of him)
Ins: Tuck, Morton, Miller (to play ruck), Nason
We need to have our best forward of the last 4-6 weeks (Vickery) actually playing forward
-
Out Hislop. This guy has got nine lives.
In Tuck
Morton should be considered if he plays well for Coburg. Hope Vickery is not rubbed out

Not really, BrownE is ijured, Gus is well Gus and I'd rather have Vickery playing forward so else do we have
No-one, so bring in Miller and he and Post can ruck ... they'd win it too they only have to deal with Joshy Fraser ;D
-

Miller struggles to play well in his own position at AFL level let alone in the ruck, WP. Where is big Browney? What injury has he got? Did Ox kill him?

He was out this week with a hip complaint JT - so no Ox is not guilty of anythin untoward....this time ;D
Actually seems to be a lot of hip injuries these days in the AFL. Just at the Tiges, there's Moore, they say Jack's playing sore and the media are suggesting hip and now BrownE

I have reached the point of not caring anymore. :-[ :'( >:( :(

Looks like Ablett will most likely be playing as he was cleared of any serious damage
Who will get the job on him??

WGAF!

Jackson then Edwards then Grigg they can all keep him to 15 possessions each.
-
For once in my life I want to see a Richmond team thrash a side which has an Ablett in it but going on current form have buckleys of ever seeing that
-
out: hislop, jackson
in: browne morton
Even though we're not playing great, it's exciting we are playing a talented bunch of very inexperienced players and we are getting games into them
Lineup:
fb batchelor mcguane newman
hb: post rance deledio
c: edwards cotchin conca
hf: morton griffiths king
ff: nahas vickery reiwoldt

RICHMOND - In the Mix
Midfielders Daniel Connors and Matthew White are both close to full fitness, while Mitch Morton, Shane Tuck and Mitch Farmer were among the best players for Coburg in the VFL. All are under consideration for Richmond's game against Gold Coast at Cazaly's Stadium in Cairns on Saturday afternoon. Tom Hislop and Jayden Post are both struggling to hold their places in the team after collecting only 11 possessions between them in the Tigers' loss to Essendon last Saturday night.

Bit rough on Post. Looked good. Griffiths only had 7 touched too. Post could have kicked 2 goals if he was on target
-
Should play Post for the rest of the year.
There are certainly others that should be dropped before Post.

Totally agree with this leave him till season end and in one position. He looked good on Sat.I wont be happy if he gets dropped. :banghead
Edited: to correct quote
-
Time for a look at guys like MacDonald and Contin.
pee Hislop off as the sub and give one of these two a quarter or two.
Did I mention we should pee Jackson off as well? No point playing a 20 cent Razz.
-
Morton in for Hislop
O'RLY in for Grigg
Jakobi in for Farmer
Tuck in for Jackson
and bring back Angus the Super Heffer for either Thursfield or McGawn

Herald-Sun's barometer - Round 17
RICHMOND
ON THE BLOCK: The usual suspects: Will Thursfield, Tom Hislop, Luke McGuane.
ON THE CUSP: Nothing exciting: Andrew Browne, Angus Graham, Shane Tuck, Mitch Morton, David Gourdis. Browne is available after missing last week with a hip, but his rival Graham was solid in the VFL victory over Bendigo. Tuck, Morton and Gourdis were again in the best at Coburg. Matthew White and Daniel Connors will resume this weekend after missing with leg injuries.
MICHAEL WARNER’S FORECAST: Saturday night's fadeout was a shocker and 3000km is a long way to travel for redemption against the Gold Coast in Cairns - a Tigers home game. Geelong at Kardinia Park looms the following week. Will struggle to win two more games.

Thursfield might have been the only tiger to clearly beat his direct opponent on Sat nite ?

Yeah, not a Thursfield fan but he wasn't our worst by a long way Sat night.

The Richmond line-up will be tweaked rather than overhauled for Saturday's testing clash with Gold Coast in Cairns, according to coach Damien Hardwick.
"There will be a couple of changes, but there won't be drastic changes," he said.
Among the potential inclusions are Matthew White and Mitch Morton, who haven't played at senior level since Round 12 and 3 respectively.
Both trained with the senior squad on Thursday in cold, wet conditions, very different from the bright and balmy 26.
