"Heard they have ruled out ACL but it may be PCL. The scan tomorrow will give them more info."

If it's a PCL that's season over for Newy.
-
maybe it's POX
-
yeah tough. At least we dont have to put up with his sooking when we are getting pumped.
-
Hope not season but looks like it
-
PCL - could be 2 weeks could be 12
Whatever it is - cotton wool the season, pointless trying to come back from this year with only 5 games to go
-
So Jackson will be captain.....
:help

So Jackson will be captain.....
:help
Why - he isn't a Vice Captain?
He is simply in the leadership group - I know he likes to think his role involves more ;D
We have 2 Vice Captains in Foley & Lids so one would hope that captaining duties while Newman is off the park would be shared between those 2
Or better yet they'd say give it to Cotch

Phew. :lol
For some reason I thought he was a vice-captain!

If Jackson captains this club I will honestly never buy a membership again. I will support Melbourn Storm.

The bloke who does the injury update/summary on SEN is saying it is a PCL which means 8-10 week recovery. So season over for Newy.

The latest on Newman's knee:
RICHMOND captain Chris Newman has avoided surgery but doubts remain on how long he will be sidelined for.
Newman strained his posterior cruciate ligament during the first quarter of Sunday's match against Geelong at Etihad Stadium before being substituted off.
Scans on Monday revealed the 29-year-old will not have to undergo surgery but no time frame has been set for his return.
"At this stage, it is difficult to put an exact time frame on how long Chris will be on the sidelines, but we're hopeful he will be available for the last portion of the season," Richmond football manager Ross Monaghan told richmondfc.com.au.

You can actually support both of those at the same time Pope, I do! ;D

If Jackson Captained the club it would be the day the RFC died in my eyes and I would limit my interest to country footy.

If Jackson captained the club it woulds still be an improvement on kane johnson

Would it Oxy?
I reckon if some of us had access to a PC 10 minutes into the first quarter of a match he captains, the site will be in meltdown.

Jackson isn't fit to be named in the same sentence as Kane Johnson.
He's a Kane Johnson wannabe, and a stuffing poor one at that.

No surprise but RFC twitter is saying Newy will miss the Eagles game next week.

Kane jhnson was one of the most over rated k on jocks of all time.
-
I want Jackson to captain so that everyone understands what a crap club weve become and we all find other things to do in winter.

Hardwick said club captain Chris Newman, who's unlikely to play again this season because of a posterior cruciate ligament injury, would fill a defensive coaching role on Sunday.

Richmond captain Chris Newman may be cooked for the season.
Tigers coach Damien Hardwick admitted this afternoon his captain was "touch and go'' to play again in 2011.
Newman limped off with a knee injury in the opening stages of the Tigers' Round 18 loss to Geelong and scans have since revealed he suffered a strained posterior cruciate ligament.
"But Chris, we're still touch and go to see whether he can make it back for the remainder of the year.''

Richmond captain Chris Newman makes quick recovery
Grant Baker
From: Herald Sun
August 12, 2011
RICHMOND captain Chris Newman could make a surprise return as early as next weekend from a potentially season-ending knee injury.
Newman was subbed off just minutes into the Tigers' Round 18 match against Geelong and scans revealed a PCL injury.
Asked this morning if he was done for the year, Newman said: "I hope not."
"I was thinking that way early on. It has progressed really well and surprised a few. I did a bit of running yesterday and pulled up really well today, that was always going to be the test.
"So hopefully, maybe, I can start playing from next weekend."
Newman said he retained absolute faith in the direction coach Damien Hardwick was taking his young team.
"There’s no doubt we’ve been inconsistent and I think that comes from having a young group and just trying to find our feet a little bit," he told Triple M.
"Throughout the year we’ve been in a lot of games, particularly early in the year. I think we’ve lost five games by under 20 points and if you turn a couple of those around you’re sitting not too bad.
"That’s been the key this year. Damien Hardwick has got a fantastic plan in place and the trick is to execute it well and we probably haven’t done that well enough this year."

Why are we rushing Newman back for? Is Hardwick a bigger fool then we think??? Just get yourself set for 2012 Chris!

Season over for Newy according to Dimma.
Newy will put his hand up to play next week but Dimma said he's too an important player to bring back and risk for just one game.

No kidding
Can we apply this to all players who are playing injured at the moment :-\
-
Why contemplate it. :-\
Put the injured boys in cotton wool and unleash them on a big pre season.
