No Jakobi? must be injured

Mad one, any player worth their salt who plays CHF or CHB can easily switch between the two.

Perhaps the coaching staff think that Post falls into this catagory? ? ?

Would love to know exactly what the story is with him

Yep last week Coburg on their Thursday night teamsheet had Tanner at FF, Farmer at CHF, Miller at FB and Post as first ruck. Adam Potter must do it for a laugh.

If Coburg wins this week (and Sandy loses which is likely) then the Burgers will just be out of the finals on percentage  :o.

I would've thought Miller in his role as on-field mentor at Coburg helping the young guys try and play VFL finals would be more important than him list-clogging in the Richmond side  ::).

Another bad turnover by foot coming out of defence :P but thankfully Schoenmakers misses his shot.

No inside 50 targets and another turnover.

Then a kick back into defence 50 is dropped right in front of the Box Hill goal.

We're trying to short chip kick with a heavy ball in the wet and stuffing up nearly every kick. Coburg making every mistake in the book  :scream.

I haven't heard his name at all so I'm presuming smokey he's in Perth as 23rd man.

Post, Browne, Hicks, Nason, Webberley, O'Reilly and Contin are playing.

Commentators praising Webberley's game and saying BrownE was starting to get on top in the ruck and taking uncontested marks around the ground since one of Box Hill's big men went off injured in the first quarter. That's about it sadly as Coburg has been very poor in dealing with the sloggy conditions and Box Hill's pressure and intensity. Post seems to have had the better of Lisle defensively.

Possies to half-time

Post    14 ... good game. played 2nd ruck as well to give Browne a chop-out.
Clifton 13
Browne 12 ... dominated that quarter in the ruck they just said. The commentators want him to push into the goalsquare when there's a kick to Coburg from 50-60m out.
O'Reilly 12
Webberley  12 and 3 marks, 3 tackles
Contin  7
Nason  5 ... started in backline but then moved him forward to try and get something going. Coburg needs tall forwards not more smalls up there.
Hicks    4

Kick-in is spoiled out of bounds. Ball-up results inside Coburg's 50. Bateman foot-taps a rushed behind.

Bateman then steps over the line kicking in. Ball-up 10m out. Hore tries to take it out of the ruck and then grubs a goal  :gotigers

Post got the tap and backed up for the clearance off to Power but he's too slow and got run down when he had to chance to hit a forward lace-out.

Coburg rebound from defence and Webberley takes a gutsy mark going back with the flight. From 45m out. OOTF!  :P

BrownE back on which is good news.

The poor first quarter and poor goalkicking in the last qtr cost Coburg today. We didn't have an answer to Schoenmakers and Langford in the Hawks' defence who continually thwarted Coburg's attacks. Browne and Post rotating and being moved up forward after half-time when rested at least straightened Coburg up and we were able to finally kick some goals to get back in the game.

Browne was b.o.g. today according to the commentators.
Post was actually good in the ruck as well when he went in there.
Webberley had a strong last qtr.
Contin like last week got more involved as the game went along.

Possies:

Post    26
Webberley   23
Browne 20
O'Rielly 19
Contin  18
Nason  11
Hicks    6 ..... didn't hear his name in the last qtr and a half.

Good to hear Postie back up his good game last week with another 26 disposals today.

Coburg was crying out for a experienced tall forward to give them some structure up forward. That's the role Miller was supposedly recruited for  ::) so our young cubs at Coburg could learn to play to that structure. Today Coburg played with a small forward line for the first half.

I think in the bigger picture what this highlights is the importance of fielding our own reserves side. Westoff should have played seniors if they lacked a tall.

I do recall talk when we first recruited Miller about him wanting to get into coaching and he could be used as an onfield 'assistant' at Coburg.

Nah. Goo was suspended for 5 weeks for abusing an ump against Geelong two weeks ago.

True about fielding our own reserves side. Mind you nothing stopped us playing Westhoff in the VFL seniors if he was good enough as we only had about 6 RFC players playing for Coburg yesterday.

Speaking of own ressies side 3WBC said Essendon has broken away from Bendigo and will go it alone.

The Coburg Report
richmondfc.com.au
3:25 PM Tue 09 Aug, 2011

Development coach, David Newett, provides a summary of how the Richmond-listed players performed at VFL level with Coburg against the Box Hill Hawks last Saturday.

Ben Nason
Played his role when forward and in the midfield, however, for such a key play-maker, didn’t have a major impact on the game.

Jamie O’Reilly
Solid performance in defence.  Kept his opponents quiet, while gathering 17 possessions himself.  Used the ball well and provided good rebound run.

Jeromey Webberley
Although not at his best, still made a valuable contribution to the team.  Provided good run offensively and kicked the ball into some key areas inside 50.  Also worked his way, defensively, into the game.

Jayden Post
Another fine performance playing in a variety of roles.  Was strong defensively with his spoiling and work in contests.  Took 14 marks for the game, several of them contested, continuing his impressive aerial form of late.  Accumulated a Coburg-high 28 possessions and used the majority to the team’s advantage.

Robbie Hicks
Had no impact on the game apart from a fine goal and a couple of good defensive involvements.

Andrew Browne
Overcame a quiet start to produce another top performance in the ruck.  Won 27 hit-outs and gathered a career-high 25 possessions.  Displayed good follow-up work at stoppages, worked hard throughout the game to provide a target, and led by example to keep Coburg in the game.

Pat Contin
Had consistent involvement across the game with a good second half.  Used his 23 possessions well and provided good run and links in play.

Nick Westhoff (Coburg reserves)
Was used in a variety of roles in the reserves team.  Had some very good involvements in scoring chains by providing a strong target in the forward half.  Applied solid defensive pressure at times with chase-down tackling.  Finished with two goals.
