Title: Changes for next week's game against the Crows?
Post by: one-eyed on August 21, 2011, 09:05:34 PM
Any changes for next week after the win tonight and Coburg's "effort" today?

HeraldSun's barometer for Round 23

RICHMOND

ON THE BLOCK: Mitch Farmer didn't have his best game on Sunday.

ON THE CUSP: Skipper Chris Newman is a sneaky chance to come up from a knee injury. Farmer the likely casualty. Ben Nason, Matt White and the Irishman Jamie O'Reilly were last week's emergencies, but were not named among the best in Coburg's heavy loss to VFL cellar-dwellers Frankston.

MICHAEL WARNER’S FORECAST: The Tigers are chasing three in a row against the Crows and, depending on Newman, could go in unchanged for the first time in a long time. But coach Damien Hardwick might also be tempted to have a look at the likes of Nason, White, O'Reilly, Reece Conca and ruckman Andrew Browne.

RICHMOND - In the Mix

After two wins in succession, the Tigers are unlikely to make many changes for their trip to Adelaide to play the Crows. Youngster Reece Conca is a good chance to be recalled after shaking off a niggling injury, but few others pushed their case in the VFL last weekend when Coburg was thrashed by bottom side Frankston.

Can someone explain how/why they would even consider Newman playing.

The benefit in Cotchin having another game as captain should be more beneficial than bringing Newman in and risking injury.

That would be a stupid move IMO in fact the most pathetic selection of the year

Don't think it will happen. We are likely to go in with an unchanged lineup...but I would like to add to the growing chorus and say that this would be fantastic to see. We need more midfielders and Contin needs a chance to prove his worth.

Not saying Conca wont play.

But curious as to why DH needs to "have a look" at him.

WTF is Michael Warner smoking? How about some research you spud. As if there is ANY CHANCE a 1st round draft pick that has performed well would be going anywhere.

I would bring Newman in for Farmer if he's fit other wise Cotin!
Pat Cotin has earn't a chance for a game in the seniors - SA boy as well.  Its as good a time as any to see if he has a chance of making the grade.

Why? He is obviously playing sore - why the CLub persist with this sort of crap with 2 rounds to go is beyond me  :banghead

Exactly kid is tired. Kid and the club will gain nothing from it. Rest the kid and get him out to have a huge pre season.
