Possibly Goo's last game on our list.

No Browne or McGuane either.

Think there might be a chance that Luke has been injured since two weeks prior to the game at the SCG.

yes well have a habit of playing blokes carrying a bit of an injury

It will be interesting to see once the season is over how many of them shuffle off to have surgery on the various niggles  ;)

No Browne or McGuane either.

Have to agree MT, dont know what a 4th year player gets but Gourdis will  prob get a $100, 000.00 or so handshake on the last year of his contract, pointless keeping him on if Dimma is never going to play him, may as well free up a draft pick
Still seems a shame such a unique athlete was never given a chance to show what he may have been capable of
On Goo's side of the ledger, you have to feel for the boy, no luck for someone like him who needed footy development getting 2 such conservative egg head coaches like Wallace and Hardwick, still thats the luck of the draw, no doubt Post, Astbury and Griffiths will follow or just  maybe we will get a genuine coaching staff some time soon (please come home Mick)

What has happened to Griffiths?

Nason, White one of them would have to be delisted or traded?

White is contracted I think so he wont be de-listed ;D

Griffiths - no proper pre-season, things have caught up with him ... nothing to worry about

There's probably only 7 RFC blokes playing for Coburg today. From the 13 listed in the OP, it falls to 9 with the Richmond interchange taken out. Subtract another in O'Reilly replacing Dea announced today plus another as a 23rd spare man (either White or Nason).

So that leaves Goo, Griffiths, Contin, Hicks, MacDonald, Westhoff and one of Nason/White.

According to Y&B, Griffiths is playing CHB on Gumbleton.
Hicks has kicked a goal
MacDonald tackled and dispossessed a Bendigo player on the wing and then ran on to receive a mark 30 m out and goaled.
Goo back.

Gumbleton missed a couple of set shots from just 25m out (Bomber fans now see him as a top pick flop) but even still Griffiths playing CHB can walk away today having held Gumby goal-less.

I know we are short of players but what is Griffiths doing playing CHB?

Good to see Contin in the bests again. That's 3 out of the past 4 games. Hopefully he can get a game next week against North to get a taste of the top level.

I know we are short of players but what is Griffiths doing playing CHB?
Perhaps the coaching staff are playing him in defence to learn more about forward play (following the leads of opposition forwards) and to get his hands on the footy more as he hasn't had big possession numbers in his career so far.

Wheeler's a midget! Unless we get rid of Foley, Nahas, Nason and White there is no way we should even look at him!!

I think Farmer, Webberley and Nason will be delisted and the rumour of Nahas possibly going to GWS. Think White and King have one more season in them at best. The biggest problem with most of them is they have no real outstanding attribute apart from Nahas with his speed and run and carry is the only real keeper and obviously Foley is a good footballer unless we are offered something good for him.

Continstar on BF:

Contin - 28 touches, really good again, just looks classy when on the ball
Nason - 24 touches, 10 marks, more on the ball today, and did a good job, more involved than previous weeks
Gourdis - 22 touches, man we missed this guy, rebounded out of defence brilliantly, and almost got a goal for himself, disposal was really good, which i know has been a weakness in the past
D-Mac - 16 touches, 6 marks, 4 tackles, 3 goals, his best game for Coburg by a mile, he just looked like he wanted it today, every other week he's looked disinterested and didn't apply much pressure, but he did it all day, really good effort
Griffiths - 14 touches, played on half back and contained Gumbleton well, had one shocker of a kick in the back pocket which went straight to a Bendigo forward, but otherwise looked pretty solid
Hicks - 10 touches, 1 goal, looked good early on but drifted out of the game, i'd say that'd be it for him, will get a reserves final next week i think, but didn't do enough to impress i think
Westhoff - 10 touches, 2 goals, kicked the first 2 goals of the game and looked ominous, then disappeared, but still took some good marks, and linked up beautifully with Contin in the 3rd quarter with a really nice handball, but same as Hicks really, again will play finals (i think) with the reserves

Development coach, David Newett, provides a summary of how the Richmond-listed players performed at VFL level with Coburg in last Saturday’s final home-and-away round victory over the Bendigo Bombers.

Robbie Hicks
The dangerous small forward had good involvements, particularly in the first half.  Applied strong defensive pressure.

Pat Contin
Continued his impressive form of the past six weeks.  Accumulated 28 possessions in his midfield role by providing good offensive spread, as well as finding the ball at stoppages.  Also used the ball very well.

Nick Westhoff
Was a valuable contributor in the first half, kicking two goals and having a hand in a few others.  Took some strong marks and provided a good target in the forward line.  Finished the season off with an overall solid performance.

Ben Griffiths
Returned to form playing in defence on the Essendon-listed Scott Gumbleton.  Did a good job negating the tall forward with sound defensive technique, and displayed composure when in possession.

Dean MacDonald
Capped off the season with a quality performance.  Kicked three goals, two behinds, and was involved in several scoring chains.  Defensive pressure and second efforts were a real feature of his game.  Displayed impressive traits that will be enhanced with a strong pre-season.

David Gourdis
Impressive performance in defence after a lengthy lay-off due to suspension.  Showed all his athleticism to spoil strongly and provided stability to the defence when it was under pressure.  Rebounded offensively with speed and poise when required.

Ben Nason
Another who returned to form, gathering 24 possessions and having an impact on the game.  Worked had throughout to support the defence and get involved offensively.  His best game for several weeks.
