Title: Changes for next week's game against North?
Post by: one-eyed on August 28, 2011, 04:42:15 PM
Vickery went off with a shoulder but came back on.

Any changes or do we stick with the same winning combo?

I thought Webberley had some impact coming on as the sub but I'm not sure if we'll play someone as the sub for 3 weeks in a row. I'd also like to see Contin get a game before the preseason.

Webbers was right into it as soon as he got on, He looked great actually both in the contests and his kicking was sublime.

Well done boys beating the Crows, very enjoyable with a few froffies at the Sandy Pub.
I think Edwards is actually showing some form.
Ginger Ninja also didn't do too badly either.
Are we in a twilight zone where we are trying and nobody else is, thus making us look better?
This commitment at the start of the year would have been great.
Would like to see Post get another game, anything else is shuffling deck chairs on the Titanic of the possibility of 9th.
Is the whole team starting to "Gel" with leadership signs coming through?
Martin, Vicks, Houli, Lids and Cotch unblvabl. I thought 'Gus did a good job too.
Anyway, next week look at Norths team selection, If North is fair dinkum and puts in their best team, Tiger 'Fans' will be streaming out of the ground at 3/4 time.
I will be there to the end no matter what. :gotigers

Adelaide were trying.
Sydney were trying
Melbourne were trying

Despite what some may think, these are not meaningless wins against sides who have given up.

It is simply a matter of things falling into place when the team keeps plugging away and trying to maintain their structures and follow  the team rules/game plan.

Hope we lose this one.  Big difference in picks.  Would have rather lost against Adelaide and won this one, but that didn't happen.

would love to think so al.  I want to believe its what u say but i have a nagging itch that keeps asking why does this intensity and commitment appear only once we have nothing to play for? Hope next season isnt a fizzer bc ppl will get positively feral including myself.

The intensity and commitment was there for most of the season Tony. It really only went missing for 4-6 weeks, but who knows why?

The mystery of form and slumps of has been associated with sports since day dot.

The reaction of the players after the game was what stood out to me. There wasn't the celebrations that goes with the sheer delight of a rare win, but more one of "job done".

Doubt it will matter round 24 anyway. Super-sub Webberley.

Like to see Webbers get another full run, he looked on fire when he came on.  O'Reilly hasn't really had a chance.  If he can't get some games under his belt or maybe they have already run a line through his name.. dunno, how old is he?

Only been here 2 years Owl.  Wouldn't think he would be getting a game if a line has been ruled.  Showed a bit in his first year and was a late starter this year due to injury but has still been able to force his way into the senior side late in the year on the back of some good Coburg games.  Not a chance he will be flicked imho.

Webberly works great as a second half Sub.
He actually plays good footy as his fresh legs clearly make a difference.
Make him a 2nd half specialist

ahh didn't know about the injury.  I was hoping they would give him a fair run, that's good.  I reckon he will be alright when he gets some games into him.

No point playing Newy now.
Would like to see Contin come in. Particularly if Kingy gets rubbed out.

Waste of money to upgrade a rookie for 1 round.  I'd bring in MacDonald as the sub.

Possibly, I think they will go small for small then White or Nason may get the nod.

Yes he would to try and prove he is right to go

Been doing this the last couple of weeks you'll find

But the problem is how he pulls up after he "cools" down. That is the pain after training

Absolutely no point in playing him

Will be interesting to see how Jack goes on Pederson, he has probably been the find of the season for North, interesting to see his bio>
An aggressive stuff from Mooroolbark, Pedersen was brought in as a ready-made AFL player.

After spending the 2010 season with VFL club Box Hill Hawks, North gave the strongly built backman a chance to prove himself at AFL level with a rookie list spot.

A proven goal kicker, Pedersen can also be used as a mobile ruckman and has great closing speed for his size.

Wouldn't mind seeing him in the Y and B

Herald-Sun's barometer Round 24

Richmond

ON THE BLOCK: Hard to point the finger at anyone after three straight wins.

ON THE CUSP: Rookie midfielder Pat Contin has been putting his hand up in the VFL. Ben Nason was also named in the best at Coburg.

MICK WARNER'S FORECAST: Four in a row and a ninth-place finish will set the Tigers up for a breakthrough season in 2012. You heard it here first - the dark days are over. Finals next year and a decade of Moet-popping after that. The Tigers will push hard for an experienced ruckman during trade week but will persevere with Angus Graham and Andrew Browne.

RICHMOND - In the Mix

The Tigers round out their 2011 campaign against North Melbourne at Etihad Stadium on Sunday, and they are likely to be without feisty forward Jake King, who was cited by the match review panel for a sling tackle in last weekend's win over the Crows. Ben Nason was named among the best players for the Coburg Tigers in their last match, while rookie midfielder Pat Contin has also been winning plenty of the ball in the VFL.
