Title: Brady Rawlings guard of honour?
Post by: TigerLand on September 04, 2011, 09:07:35 PM
All due respect to Rawlsing, call me heartless but I was really disappointed we did this.

For 2 reasons.

1) Brady Rawlings? Um.. who? What has this bloke achieved? At best maybe 2-3 Best and Fairests? Wouldnt have played in their premierships? Just a tagger... just a decent player. Wouldn't have played 300 games, not even 250.. Are we just handing out gaurd of honours for anyone who retires that has played 200 games? 0 All Australians?

2) I like the guard of honor, I like teh sportsmanship, however if we're doing guard of honours for every OK player thats played the game they become irrelvant. Leave them for the champions of the game so they mean something. Silvagni, Hird, Kirk, Richardson etc.

The Roos should have returned the favour and given one for the final games of Graham, Morton, Jackson, Farmer and White  ;D

guards of honor are bulldust IMHO.

I think there is a place for them in football, for 300+ gamers, brownlow medalist and club legends.

With all due respect, Brady Rawlings didn't deserve one.
