Next up is Griggy.
After crossing over from Carlton, Shaun played 21 games in his first season at Punt Rd to take his career tally to 64. He averaged 22 disposals per game including 32 possessions vs Gold Coast up in Cairns, 30 vs Collingwood in round 4, and 29 disposals in the drawn match with St Kilda in round 2.
What did we all think of Grigg's first year with the Tiges?

Started really well until opposition sides worked him out.
Sorry but IMHO his disposal is average at best. It's OK when he isn't under pressure but under pressure his kicking can be simply shocking
Second half of the season was very poor, with his lack of attack on the footy the most disappointing of all... Again just my opinion but I thought he was gifted games in the 2nd half of the year, he should have been dropped a couple of times
-
Six from me.
Reasonable summation WP, although to be fair I thought he did well in some tagging roles in the back half of the year.
My biggest criticism of Grigg is at times he just seems in cruise control.
To often he doesn't work hard enough defensively or push to a support position for his team mates which is very frustrating to witness.
Almost Tambling like in the way he approaches the contest at times. ::)
A tenth place finish in the B&F was a reasonable result but I think he has the ability to improve substantially on that with some hard work.
No favours for Shaun from Dimma over summer I imagine.

Agree with T_o_O. Grigg looks like he is cruising a lot of the time.
He's an upgrade on Collins though and that's all he cost us.
-
Jackson is a better version of Grigg. Better kick, goes in alot harder. Not sure why we picked Grigg up. Handy for depth at best
-
7 from me.
A good 1st season getting used to a new team, only overshadowed by Houli's even better one.

Jackson isn't better than a used juice box.

Gave him a 6.
Baring in mind he has only just played 60 games and only 21 with his current team mates.
Atm he's in our best 22 comfortably. Would he get a game in any of the top 4 clubs? Eagles and Hawks maybe, Cats and Pies wouldn't think so.
He has development still to come and has only just turned 23. Kicking is an issue but defensively he's quite strong with decent size and is a good mark as well as running all day.
His year started off well and ended really poorly, WP pretty spot on.
We'll be better place to judge him this time next year if he is able to have an injury free pre season and 22 games next year.

5.
poor footskills and lack of intensity.
Good thing he didnt cost us much because he is VFL standard.

Jacko is a better player. He goes in, he's usually a better kick. Nothing more to say 8)

5 people on the site have told it how it is in the poll :clapping

i liked him better as a ruckman

IMV we got what we expected. We replaced a skinny footballer with good footskills who didn't win much of his footy with a hard-bodied footballer with ordinary footskills who can win his own footy. I said at the time it was sideways trade and although we've come out on top in the trade as Collo can get a game at Carlton, I still don't see Grigg being part of a premiership side due to his ordinary footskills.
-
Had a poor mid season but believe has been a good pick-up. His last end of the season showed some positive signs. Agree with comments needs to work harder and improve his foot skills.

Collo can get a game at Carlton
Collo did his shoulder mid-season which ended his year
-
I don't like having Grigg and Jacko in the same side. Think we should only play 1 and Jacko plays with alot more heart and grunt and has a better kick. If Grigg can be used for depth then that's cool with me 8)

4. Lucky to be in our best 22 by seasons end.

Grigg > Jackson

Grigg > Jackson
Jacko is average but he's not as crap as Grigg
-
He was ok. I'm just disappointed he's an outside player. His kicking for goal is very ordinary but he gets the ball a bit and does some good things at times but can't help thinking of Pagan's saying... looks like Tarzan , plays like Jane.
-
Gave him a 5 but nearly went 6. I liked his season from a 'young player at new club playing his first ever full season' perspective but I think there is heaps of room for improvement. Whether or not he is capable of that improvement is debatable but there are signs of his potential and he has shown thus far to be a significant upgrade on Collins. As T_o_O said: "No favours for Shaun from Dimma over summer I imagine." That would be the best thing for him I think - would show us all whether he can step up or not.
