Just firther proof that Jacko is clueless on so many levels, although probably not helped by it being Giants game and they as defending WS champions are having a average year

Want atmosphere at Baseball game head to New York folks = Yankee Stadium  :thumbsup

Or if you hate the Yankees I suggest Fenway Park home of the BoSox  ;D

Watched a game at San Diego in the owner's corporate box a few years back WP and sadly I have to agree with Jacko.  I just couldn't get the excitement around the game - as a comparison with One Day cricket it was way too stop/start for me.  Maybe they should have spent more time playing the game and less time trying to entertain the crowd with music and gimmicks?  Hello 20/20?  Then again, maybe I'm just too old-school and prefer my sport to be just that.

Yeah but it isn't cricket and it doesn't try to be  ;D I suppose I'm a fan of the game first & foremost
and I really enjoy the stop start. Love watching those pitchers do there stuff

I went to a playoff game (division series for memery) at Yankee Stadium (old stadium) just on 4 years ago; 50k+  crowd which = 99% Yankee fans and I have to say the atmosphere was electric. The music etc just made it all the more fun IMHO

Would live to do it again and check out the new stadium

I personally don't watch baseball on tv but I would love to go and see a game live.
The atmosphere of being at big sporting events is always great.

For sure.  Each to their own and if you enjoy the game then that's all that matters.  I just struggled to get into the excitement and I went there with no preconceptions - we (wife and I) were looking forward to it, had the best seats and very patient and gracious hosts but despite my anticipation it just left me pretty flat.  The same as I struggle to get into the excitement of a live NRL game actually, although in fairness to NRL I've not been to a State Of Origin or Grand Final live.

Ge poor old Jacko bored on a holiday watching baseball.

 :banghead

Its actually not a bad game, from a sportsmans point of view I would have thought Jacko could at least appreciate some parts of a foreign game.

Maybe cause in baseball there are no cheap hits behind play so Jacko can't relate to it very well...  :banghead

We actually wanted to got to an Ice Hocket & NFL game was well

But unfortunately, ever city we got on our trip we had either missed a game or the next game in that particular city was a week away  :P. Missied out on Ice Hickey in Toronto by 24 hours  :wallywink

We were lucky with the B/Ball because we had a week in New York and the game was on the 2 days after we arrived. Yankees got beat and the series was over - definitely lucky there  ;D

We got tickets via a "ticket broker" (read a legal scalper) via the internet. Face value of the ticket was about US $120ea and we got them for US$180 ea. Worth every cent

I did until post 700 on the topic.

It's become old and insane.

Thinking a guy is a poo footballer and wanker is one thing, constant character assassination is boring as stuff.

So the guy is on holiday in the USA (big deal) and hates baseball (big stuffing deal).

Does this make him an idiot?

I think he is a very very very average footballer, but his opinion on baseball doesn't mean diddly poo.

Jack tossed the coin for the game, decked out in his Hobart Hurricanes KooGa kit

Interviewed him during the change of innings

He said:

* training starts again on Thursday
* on the boat today to be home Wednesday
* hard part of training (the extra running side of things) is pretty much over now it's more footy based
* looking at improving further with all the young players coming through, we traded well and recruited well at the draft

* admitted he is still in "rehab" after having a couple of operations after the season but didnt say when he would be joining in full training (that's probably because the Fox Sports talking head (Jessica Yates) is clueless when it comes to AFL  = she's a Sydney gal and didn't ask ;D)

Been out there have you?

All seats out there are cheap. The "premium seats" cost for memory $14-$15

And I can tell you that they would lucky to get 200 people to a game. Been a few times and the crowds are very poor

Masters of the golf course

Tue 31 Jan, 2012

Richmond players substituted kicks and marks with drives and putts at the fifth annual Tigers Masters at Moonah Links last weekend.

Organised by Club supporter Brian McCue, the event attracted 63 entrants, including the majority of the Richmond playing list.

And while the likes of Brett Deledio, Jack Riewoldt, Chris Newman, Brad Miller and Alex Rance showed they were more than capable of swinging a golf club, the current crop of Tigers were upstaged by some past greats, and one handy former cricketer.

The foursome of Matthew Richardson, Nathan Brown, Richmond team manager Mark Opie and former Australian bastman Dean Jones took out the title in the ambrose format.

Former Tigers Greg Tivendale, Will Thursfield and Mark Coughlan also took part.

Daniel Connors won the trophy for closest to the pin, while Luke McGuane won the longest drive competition.

Other Richmond players to impress were Kel Moore, Matt White, Andrew Browne and Jake King.

Not offseason but I didn't want to start a new thread. The boys obviously have been given a few days off to get away from footy and freshen up. Grigg has gone up in Queensland.
