I know a player has to be 30 years old and have played for 10 or more years with the same club to be able to be placed onto the veterans' list. Newy turns 30 in May next year. Does the rule apply to turning 30 within a certain season or do you have to be 30 already by Jan 1?

You have to have turned 30 by September 30 of that year, so Newy can be classified as a veteran next year.

Personally think we should wait a year. Not like we need the salary cap room and we can replace his main list spot with someone from a strong draft rather than a weak one.

I thought the rule was going to be "tweaked" under the next CBA (if it ever gets signed) where it would be one or the other
But as we all now the greey players are currently more concerned about getting guaranteed single rooms when they have to go interstate ::)

Cheers Y&BB :).
Whether it's this or next year it will free up more salary cap space.
