Before I go off my nut about this.
Brock can play seriously good VFL football. Has struggled with the pace of AFL at Carlton, maybe it was Carltons game plan that made him look average.
I wouldn't be against McLean on our list, but would this that his currency has halved in the last year. Can't see Carlton trading him for nix as he's contracted, I hope we don't pay overs..
-
Wasn't he apart of the bigfooty rumour of Carlton getting our first rounder to give to saints for Goddard.

When I read this my plums retreated way deep up into my torso *cough cough*

i just slapped my own face for fear of agreeing with popey :o, mclean has been a fish out of water the minute he walsked into carlton, 2 years ago he was all the rage as an absolute clearance machine, B&F winner 2008. injuries have plagued him, at 25 if we were to get him for nicks Id be all for it, particularly if it meant we could offload jackson and change the midfield mix around
-
I'd give him a crack if he was cheap.
Better than Jackson, probably better than Tuck when he is fit as well.

I have to agree hear, I don't mind some of these nuffers coming to our club, it's what we pay for them thats the issue.....
-
as my golfing partner always says, if it aint working FIX IT...we won 8 games not 18, a few fellas need to be given the arse and change things if we could get Mclean for a R4 selection and he got fit and I mean FIT...then sheesh that would change our setup some :shh
-
He's an upgrade on Tuck & Jackson.
For the right price I'd do it.

x 2. With a special emphasis on "for the right price".

He is an upgrade on sweet FA, wakeup to yourselves if you are calling for him to come to the club...
Fair dinkum, he is not the way forward and is of no use what so ever to our club.

Hmm, he's not a world beater, but averaging 30 possessions and 7 tackles in the VFL is nothing to yawn at. He'd be an upgrade on half our list. Our bottom half of our list is poo.
-
Please no. Carlton would be over the moon to get rid of him and Grigg. I don't want either

A lot of players are champs in the VFL...
Agree, our bottom half is poo, lets not fill the bowl up with more..

:lol
..and i'm laughing with you WAT :thumbsup
-
if his body is ok we should he is a serious good player when fit and hard, better than most on our list and he has family ties to our club
-
Look what the Hawks did with Stewie Dew... :burgereater :outtahere

Not every short term trade or draft will work as perfectly as the Stewie Dew trade did especially on the biggest stage of all.
I agree with a few of the earlier posts, for the right price I'd take a punt. Don't know what that price is however.

If we can get him for free, ie. Carlton pays his wage, he doesn't cost us a pick, he doesn't take up a spot on the list, he plays at Coburg and I can throw fruit at him, I'm all for it.

Can't see how we can get him off Carlton and not cost us a spot on our list.
I don't think we need him anyways.

You get the Golden Gerkin for this one. Love it

Anybody who would start a thread to bring Brock Mclean to Richmond is a nutcase.
Who would want a player who cant even get into the Carlton Senior side. McMahon Reborn ;D Wake up fool

I'm not suggesting it was a question about the rumour you chicken heart.

The OX said ages ago on SEN that his knees were shot. If we take him and I really hope we don't then I hope its a late pre season draft pick or a rookie spot. He is gone.

Can I throw fruit too? :D
-
Of course you can, we all can. Even if he doesn't come to Richmond. I promise.
-
nah I'll eat the fruit and then throw my poo at him.
Who says we didnt evolve from monkeys?
-
That's a tad uncouth al
Save the poo flinging for Round 1
-
BROCK McLean is in football's no-man's-land, unloved at Carlton and scaring off rival suitors because of his $400,000-a-season contract.
The Blues have had no genuine trade inquiries for McLean, 25, who several years ago was considered one of the brightest midfield prospects.
Opposition clubs who might have taken a punt on McLean will not go near him because his contract prices him out of the market.
And Carlton seems unlikely to work on a deal that would see it pay some of his contract while he played at another club.

400k a year pfffffft stuff that. McMahon anyone lol
-
Let his price screw the Cheats and their salary cap. I wouldn't touch him and hope no other club does either. Would love to see that miserable cheating organisation fail in everything they do.
-
RFC_official has confirmed we are not interested in crock mclean
