Spent a bit of time in a couple of different isloated environments (Coast/Bush and River) and have seen first hand the damage this introduced species can do and I have come to the decision that cats as pets should be declared illegal.
All species should be declared vermin and executed, perhaps even with a small 'tail bounty' a la the fox program.
Cats are predators of almost all our native animals and have no place in our eco system.
Options such as keeping them inside are cruel and inhumane and should also be discouraged.
Thoughts?

Reintroduce Dingoes into the areas that cats are a problem.

This headline is very naive. We need to remove wild cats and other introduced animals that have spreaded into the native population environments to help native animals but sadly there is to many of them to totally eradicate them all.
I would also note that alot cats that are family pets/domesticated would be desexed.

Being desexed is one thing but it doesn't stop them killing native animals and birds and ruining ecosystems.

We just need a dirty virus to wipe through 75% of humans.
Forget cats. Ecosystem solved.
