Title: Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year
Post by: mightytiges on December 23, 2011, 03:48:21 AM
With people either busy with some last minute present hunting or heading off over the Christmas break to be with family, I just wanted to take this opportunity to wish all OERites and their families a safe and merry Christmas and happy New Year  :cheers.

Thanks once again for your continued support of OER and for all your posts and opinions throughout 2011 which make OER a great place to be apart of  :cheers.  Be safe on the roads over the break if you're driving and if you're going away we'll see you all recharged and ready to go for 2012 when hopefully the young Tigers continue their upwards progression.

A special thanks goes to my pardner in crime WP who is always there email and phone at the ready to deal with a certain nuff nuff company in Canada  ;D  :thumbsup.

Bring on the stuffing for Sunday  :thumbsup.

As already said by MT, thanks for your support and input into OER this year. Here's hoping season 2012 is a good one for the Tigers

And to MT, the brains behind this operation have a good one and don't overdose on that stuffing just like I wont OD on my Ray's Traditional Family Plum Pudding  :thumbsup

Wow,
Blast from the past stuff WP.  I worked at Ray's in Niddrie when I was a 17yr old, would ride from my house at East Keilor to Niddrie at 3.30am each morning and I still have his reference letter for my resume to this day.  Scary stuff!

Yep. I have just bought a rain water tank and was worried about getting water in it before it got too windy. Collected around 1000L last night .

Best Plum Puddiings going around

MA Powell used to make our Xmas Pudding always on Cup Day and hang them until Xmas day.

One year she was sick (in hospital for memory) so she couldn't make it. That year she bought a Ray's and that was that  ;D Never made another one herself she reckoned why go through all that hard work when she could get one that was far better than anything she could make (IMHO her's bloody good BTW)

Tradition has been Ray's pudidngs ever since  :clapping :clapping

Pur family tradition is once n the severing plate we pour some brandy on it and then set it alight as it bought to the table - magic  :santa

L-Tryptophan is what can make you feel drowsy but apparently it's a myth that the turkey is to blame for the tiredness.

Here we are getting texts and calls from friends and family in Melb in relation to this cyclone and while we sat here in calm mild conditions old Huey ran amok in melbourne. My sister in law who was having the family around for christmas dinner had her unit in Mt Alexender rd flooded and there was heavy rain with big hailstones in Essendon.

The abc said there was reports of two small tornadoes in victoria as well.
