a suggestion for players on banner we should use top 5 from the seasons b n f and then update each season
With Thursty now gone I'm happy if people would like a new/updated banner. Cotch, Dusty, Jack, Lids and if more than four then say Vickery or Houli. Maybe also go out on a limb and throw in a cub like Conca, Batch or even our first pick Ellis.
We can't use the new logo or any official logo for that matter as it's AFL copyright and the AFL has a zero tolerance towards unauthorised use even if it's harmless and is actually promoting footy. OER would receive an email from HQ's lawyers quick smart :help.
Pope's current banner is a very good one so he's set a high standard to follow for the new one.
a suggestion for players on banner we should use top 5 from the seasons b n f and then update each seasonEven if Jackson, Edwards and Connors finish in the top 5 of the B&F? ;D

I'll play devils advocate by asking the question how bad a backlash are people prepared for?

Photos of me, Gerks, Davey and TFT....... :lol
How about a banner with no players on it and just a photoshop job of Richmond supporters in full cry. Lets be honest its been these supporters and the vocal minority that has kept the club going since 1980, the club administration and players havent achieved anything. Respect the supporters not the people at the club who havent achieved poo. VOTE 1 THE SUPPORTERS!
Here is my first up effort for a new OER banner. I went with an Old and the new theme.
Let the crucifixion... I mean constructive commentary begin. ;D

I have taken on everyone's suggestions and created a version two of the banner.

Didn't take on my suggestion. I hate the look of us in white shorts.Sorry to disappoint TBR. Its a killer pic of Lids, Dusty's pic fits well and as far as the older photo's go, I had to scan them from books I have and most of them are in white shorts.

If it's not too much a hassle, is it possible to put a black outline around each of the letters 'O E R' to see what that would look like?No Daniel Jackson. Disappointing.LOL ;D

Soz.Didn't see it
The whole picture shows him breaking a tackle of Clint Jones from the Saints and he appears to be screaming out to someone upfield to let them know that its coming their way.

when do these kids go back to school :lol
Tiga- well done, not just for the end result, which is terrific, but your flexibility in taking into account everyone's ideas into the finished product. I for one am glad to see our captain's nose back on his face again. Farewell to Popelord's great banner too, well done to both of you.
I think the club should utilise people like yourselves to do their internet banners and the likes, I'm sure you guys would do a banner for them for the cost of say a premium 16 game membership or so which would cost the club nothing.
Also this thread is a good example of getting ideas from members to contribute to the designs of a clubs image, it engages members and ends up a better product with the stuff.

Respectfully disagree. Too many chefs and you end up with the monstrosity that is the Demons logo. :P
I'm happy for the club to engage industry professionals to present the club's brand. It's not something that just anyone can do and it's important to get right.
Recently the club has just engaged a new graphic designer and I am looking forward to seeing what looks the club develops over the next 12-18 months.
BTW nice job on the OER banner tiga. 8)
I don't subscribe to the theory that only professional designers/marketers, by virtue of their qualifications, can generate a satisfactory result.
I give you the current Club website as an example. I would stake my life on it that any number of supporters could have designed a far more functional and pleasing website than that one which was designed by current industry professionals.
God, I cant wait for the season to start, we have been at each others throats since the end of last season.... :lol
Honestly I think we would disagree over a matchstick at the moment...
The banners great, the club do what they want, you dont agree and someone else does agree.....blah blah blah....
Bounce the stuffing ball for christs sake.... ;D

Edwards was a good start, by this comment above I look forward to you setting the standard of not disagreeing with anyone for the rest of the pre season. ;)
tiga considered a banner with Edwards, Jackson, Connors and muched talked about Tigers of the past such as Eustice, Lounder, Biddiscombe, Houlihan and Fiora but he didn't want other supporters to have to go out and buy a new computer after logging onto OER and smashing their old one ;D.

Again I respectfully disagree. Easy to be critical of professionals because everyone has an opinion on art but I guarantee if it was left to amateurs it would be an unmitigated disaster. There is a heck of a lot that needs to be taken into consideration when creating an overall brand for a multi million dollar organisation.
Looks easy, I assure you it isn't.

The club is limited in it's control of the website's design due to it's affiliation with Telstra.
I'm looking forward to seeing the new product shortly and expect it to be a vast improvement.
I agree with Smokey on this one. To get some of the old photos I have on my banner, I had the advantage of a collection of Tiger memorabilia and books from which I could scan from and as a long standing, passionate Tiger supporter I knew what to look for from our past successes and great moments which I believe a creative designer who is not a Tiger fan would find it difficult to pull off. I know MM that you are thinking along the lines of the old saying "A Camel is a Horse designed by Committee", but in this instance I can see what Smokey means, and that is all we would be doing as supporters, is providing ideas for the creative designer or in essence infusing the Tiger Passion into them, we would not be decision makers in the process by any means.I don't subscribe to the theory that only professional designers/marketers, by virtue of their qualifications, can generate a satisfactory result.

I agree with what you say MM but to suggest only professionals can get it right is not true either. My suggestion was that the club could have done itself a favour and solicited input from it's supporter base before handing that over to the professionals for consideration/consolidation into a professional finished product. And remember that many of the supporters would also potentially have professional qualifications in the trade. I just know that in my trade some of the best suggestions as to layout, configuration and design of our software comes from those with the least skills in applying it and for the professional consultant whose task it is to come up with the finished product, it can be a gold mine of ideas unbounded by our professional barriers/prejudices.I give you the current Club website as an example. Yes, but it was still designed by Telstra's web design professionals.

There's one way to settle this.I respectfully decline. I want to be liked. ;D
How about Tiga comes up with his design for a new RFC logo?

I like the new logo.
I like the new logo. The old one was a piece of dog crap designed by a fan on a contra deal cause we were povo. I think we paid for it with free Chinese food.
I like the new logo.
Greatest argument I've heard against it.
Do I have to remind you of certain things? My empty pockets and scrounging for Macca's 2 for one deal coupons remind me every day.
I like the new logo.
