After reading and hearing about Griffiths and Derrickx recently I reckon we could have the tallest team in history soon. There's plenty to like about these 2. Along with Vickery and Elton, these guys are all giants with heaps of pace, mobility, skills and smarts. Griffiths is expected to play a bit in defence this year along with how many other tall defenders while Derrickx up forward. Apparently Rance is moving away from FB and Post and Griffiths are spending time in defence. With Grimes and Astbury also fighting for a spot, I'm not sure where rance is playing. At some time this year we may have a team such as:
FB ellis griffiths(200cm) newman
HB houli post(195cm) rance(194cm)/grimes(193cm)
C edwards cotchin conca
HF king derrickx(202cm) webberley
FF vickery(200cm) reiwoldt(195cm) nahas
FOLL maric(200cm)/Browne(203cm) martin deledio
INT helbig foly jackson astbury(195cm)
I think Elton is about 200cm too. Standing next to Maric, Griffiths and Vickery at training the other day he looked no shorter

tall players don't get any shorter as the game wears on :thumbsup

Not absolutely true as spinal disc compression over the match would mean they may be a millimetre or two shorter by the end of the match. :lol
But so will the short guys but probably proportionally by not as much. ;D

i think not having a good supply of talls in our squad has held us back in recent years.I look forward to this group of talls developing ,and doing what talls traditionally do...win finals football

The thing I like at present is that almost all of our talls are very mobile players. The next step is for these young talls to gain bulk so they can't be pushed under the ball during aerial duels. Once that's achieved their size will certainly help us at either end of the ground and at ruck contests.
Like anything though, balance is the key so too many shorts or talls is never good. I think the list management of the squad is progressing nicely :thumbsup
