Richmond great Wayne Campbell's home raided

RICHMOND great Wayne Campbell's home was allegedly burgled by a drug fiend while his young family slept.

Robert Alexander, 34, of Frankston, faces 33 charges relating to an alleged crime spree across Melbourne earlier this month.

Police claim the rampage began at Campbell's Elwood home and ended in Warrandyte after a police pursuit.

The one-time Tiger star confirmed his family was home on January 9 when a thief struck, but did not want to talk about the incident.

In court, police claimed Mr Alexander sneaked into Campbell's home and stole cash and property worth $1000 and the family's Toyota RAV4 worth $25,000.

On January 14 he is alleged to have entered a Clifton Hill property and assaulted a man with a weapon.

Later the same day, he was chased by police from Balwyn to Warrandyte, where he allegedly assaulted an officer.

Mr Alexander's lawyer, Robert Thyssen, told Melbourne Magistrates' Court his client needed medical treatment after being hit on the head.

"He has a number of head injuries as a result of being hit on the head with a baton," he told the court.

Mr Thyssen said at the time the alleged incidents occurred, Mr Alexander was coming down from a cocktail of cocaine, amphetamines and cannabis and suffered depression after the death of his mother late last year.

The charges include resisting police, assault, theft and dangerous driving.

Magistrate Peter Reardon remanded him in custody to appear in the same court on April 16.

Mr Alexander did not apply for bail.

I don't have any really but my brother does.  You got a predator or someone really knocking em off?
If so, lock em up at night...with a padlock.  Would have to be a local if they are coming back.
