Title: Dean MacDonald moved onto Long-term Injury List
Post by: one-eyed on March 09, 2012, 05:44:43 PM
From Patrick Keane's twitter:

"Richmond and Sydney have placed Dean McDonald and Alex Brown respectively on the long-term injury list. No replacement yet for either player"

Real shame, wanted to see him have a go this year....

Maric for sure if he goes well against the Cats..

Miller, would have to, unless one of the rookies really puts his hand up..

Yep pretty much confirms both Miller and mini Maric will be promoted. If both have a decent game today you'd reckon both will play round 1.

he is a ready made AFL footballer & would make it easy. If he dont play its his choice.

well any player who dont benefit the club should be sacked after 2 years. Most players are ready made footballers considering the facilities they get trained in prior to draft. Gippsland Power have the best traing facility. They get everything on a plater these days. All they have to do is present themselves & do thier jobs. If you cant do your job then the club should regardless of the the player, sack them. RFC have kept players in the past & reaped no benefit & it puts the club behind the other AFL clubs in developing a solid playing group. Griffiths is another player who has given nothing & should be axed after this year.
No-one is bigger than the RFC & its supporters  :thumbsup

I agree Monk in regards to hanging onto players but talls should be given an extra couple of years to develop. Rance, Jack etc are all examples of this. Bad attitudes and discipline should not be tolerated though. One chance at most imo.

no excuses for talls, They are always clumsy footballers. As l said the training these lads get these days is extreme.
You cannot afford to give anyone more time then whats required. Rewoldt took more time cause his a fool.  ;D Griffiths will be a flop which everyone on the planet knew before he was drafted. He will end up at KFC  ;D McDonald will end up at McDonalds  ;D & will become manager.

Only a Collingwood troll from Gippsland could come up with a line like that.

MacDonald will be like a lot of other young people from Gippsland that come to try the big smoke. Some make it, and some go back and milk the cows. MacDonald might prefer the life of burning around town in the latest ute, sinking Jim Beam cans and bagging 100 goals a year for some local club that hooks him up with a union job. It's not a bad life option being a regional champ.
