Title: Tickets for Geelong v Richmond Round 4
Post by: Hellenic Tiger on March 19, 2012, 06:31:08 PM
Hi all,

I just would like to know what the ticket arrangement is for our Round 4 clash with Geelong at Simonds.
I know the stand has been demolished and there is a reduced capacity but I have gone on the net and tickets are not available as yet, yet there are tix available for games for our games at Etihad in rd 5 and our first 3 games at the MCG. I'm wondering whether there will be a ticket allocation for us  and if so how I can get my hands on some tix as I'm thinking of making the trek this year and I would like to get some tix.
Can someone clarify? RFCO or anyone else perhaps?

Thanks in advance

Heard a few weeks ago that we were only getting allocated 200 tickets or something along those lines.

It's a joke we have to play there. 20,000 capacity at the moment. A big 4 club, should be at the G

It is correct that it is only 200 tigers supporters allowed admission
There was a hoohaa on SEN 2 weeks ago from tiges supporters ringing in to complain...

Does that count cheersquad members??

Hopefully this is the last year we play at that poohole.

Hawthorn should bloody play them there and if we are going to then so should Carlton and Essendon.

We start making the 8 and maybe we'll start playing them at Etihad every year as our away game.

Emailed the Geelong Footy Club about this a couple of weeks back. Kudos to them they phoned me directly within an hour of me emailing  :clapping

I got told Tickets go on sale via Ticketmaster a fortnight before the game = Monday 9th April at 9.00am

*** tickets for all Geelong home games only go on sale a fortnight before each game

They have a set number of tickets on sale for every home game, these tickets are also for their own members that don't have reserve seats

They also a fixed number of walk up tickets available on match day but the bloke I spoke to said do that at your own risk  ;D

How many times have Collingwood played there in the last 10 years? How about Essendon or Carlton?  Has anyone got the stats?  We are always at a disadvantage.

Ok thanks for that WP.
Might get plenty of ppl who will be celebrating Easter and will be sidetracked but the Greeks have Easter a week later so maybe I'll snap them up and scalp them for the locals.

Tix of course for a massive discount for OER members. :thumbsup

I won't be giving them away but I'll practically be giving them away. ;D

The club will not be given an allocation WP to get from the club as per previous years?

Filth last played there in 1991. Year they finished with 8 wins.
Scums last played there in 1999. Year they finished last.
Bums last played there in 1993. Year they won the flag  Baby Bombers. What was Ross Oakley thinking.

Since 1987 we have played ther 88/89/90/92/93/94/96/97/98/01/05/06/07/09/10
15 times in the last 25 years and we have only won twice in 1990 and 2006.

Can I ask when was the last home game we had against them at the G??
Just flicking thru wikipedia on my bb and as follows:
2012: SS
2011: etihad (their home game)
2010: SS
2009: SS

Taking forever to view on my phone but I'm guessing 08 since that's not in tuckers list, but then again it wouldn't suprise me if that was at etihad too.

2008 was our last home game against the Cats at the G.
2007 our home game was at Etihad. You might remember it as the night we lost 222-65.
Before that Walla$$ first game as coach round 1 2005.

Since 1987 we have had home games against the Cats at the G

1987/88/89/90/92/95/96/97/98/99/02/04/05/08

We played Geelong as a home game in 1994 last round at Optus Oval
and in 2003 and 2007 at Etihad stadium. We have beaten them 4 times as the home side and thrice as the away side giving us 7 wins in 25 years against the Cats. :help

We have also played Geelong as the away side at Etihad in 2000/04/08/11 for a 70 point win in 2000.

This is clearly our biggest bogey side, we need to get on this. 7 wins in 25 years is disgusting .
You know when you get a copy of the record at the footy and read that cloumn that has all the head to head data going back 100yrs?? Well in 25 yrs time from now even if we beat them the next 20 out of 25 we will still be behind them. That's damning and its not just against these guys either

Forgot to add last night the "200 ticket allocation" is probably just for the visting club.

All clubs get allocated tickets for away games to get players not playing, staff, directors & the cheersquad etc in. For games in WA against the Eagles the Tigers only get allocated about 200 tickets

It's a big if, but what if we're 2-1 or  :pray 3-0, would they move the game?

It's a big if, but what if we're 2-1 or  :pray 3-0, would they move the game?

Only place they could move it on that day (remembering Broadcasters must be "catered" for) is Etihad.

And you would think that seeing Geelong makes more per game down at Geelong than at Etihad then the Cats would say they don't want it moved  ;D

What would Andy D & little AA do? Would they have the guts

Would certainly be an interesting scenario if we are 3-0  ;D
