I wonder with our plans to reach 75k members in the next couple of years if we'll push for our own fox footy RFC show?

Pies, Dons, AFL enter new TV age

AS COLLINGWOOD prepares to launch its own television show, club chief executive Gary Pert has revealed he was approached last year by networks wanting to broadcast only Magpies matches.

The changing face of the football media industry continues apace with Pert also disclosing plans to have a Collingwood-only channel on pay television, while AFL boss Andrew Demetriou has confirmed he wants the league to launch its own television channel online when the National Broadband Network is rolled out.

An AFL online channel, introduced possibly as early as 2017, would mirror the version owned by the National Football League in the United States, which broadcasts some games exclusively. This would also give the AFL the chance to produce its own commercials and programs.

Would love to know how much it is costing each club. Fox wouldn't be doing it out of the goodness of their heart

I too would love to know the cost associated with this.
An invaluable marketing tool to say the least, this will see supporters engaged like never before  :shh

So would their shows be similar to HawksActive. HawksActive is a weekly half hour show about Hawthorn on public broadcast channel Southern Cross tv in NT and Tas for past couple of years.

Rumour has it both Collingwood and Essendon are paying or investing $500,000 to get their show on television for 1 year.

If that's true it makes the Bumblings asking their members to help pay for their new training venue more laughable

BTW the total raised so far is just over $575k - they really are going well in so many levels  ;D

As per their own website yesterday morning the "Hangar" fund had just under $576k
