Is this the injury thread or another bag the stuff out of Connors thread, and you think I carry on about Edwards.
I am giving Edwards a break until the season starts, do the same for Connors FFS..... :banghead
Now, we go in to this game with no injuries.......correct, well no one that has played the preseason?

He's not injured. Connors kicked 3 goals and was in the bests for Coburg last Friday night.

anyway, big deal 3 goals at Coburg ::)

I think Connors will go OK if he can recapture the pre sydney fire when he was given disciplinary action and a holiday.
Just take a minute and imagine if any players actually wanted to waste time to read the drivel you blokes carry on with.

Pretty bruise free Thurs night so wouldnt expect fresh injuries in the seniors but what of Griff, Connors and didnt Helbig get inj for coburg?
-
Mcguane also didnt play for coburg, Helbig & Piva both did what looked like ankles
Pretty funny after the gane Gus piggybacked Piva up the steps to the coburg rooms, Gus was buggered
-
Griffiths didn't play for Coburg either. I'm presuming he was rested due to the concussion he got from the week before so he should be back for Coburg this weekend.
-
Would be awesome if Griff could develop as a backman.
-
just hoping he can string two games in a row at the moment
-
Griffiths needs to get onto the park.
We can laugh at the bums but he is fast becoming the equivalent of Gumbleton. :help
We need this kid and I can only hope his body can hold up.

Injury Update @ April 3, 2012
David Astbury (knee) indefinite
Kelvin Moore (hip) Long term injury list
Brad Helbig (foot) indefinite
Here's Matt Hornsby discussing our injury list:
http://www.richmondfc.com.au/roar%20vision%20archive/tabid/11454/contentid/436616/default.aspx
* No injuries from the Richmond game. Kingy back this week after his suspension.
* Helbig out for 8 weeks (see Helbig thread). Will wear a moon boot and will work on other stuff (eg: weights) while he does his rehab.
Moore, Astbury - doing high intensity running, changing direction,etc.... Doing more conditioning now than actual injury rehab. One step away from joining main training.
-
According to the Herald-Sun:
RICHMOND
INJURED:
Jake King (knee) 4-6 weeks
David Astbury (knee) 5 weeks
Kelvin Moore (hip) indefinite

Still no one can answer why Connors is in rehab group and not on injury list
Club suspension again no doubt
Rehab group now has two meanings?
-

First of all Jack there is no club suspension - Mischievous to suggest it don't you think.
And let's be honest the injury lists are a joke for all clubs
everyone here knows Helbig is out for at least 12 weeks with a foot injury but he isn't listed either
As for Connors - you don't care so why the obsession
-
Well.why isn't he playing ?
Didn't get on the park to often last year
Looks the same this year
-
Well.why isn't he playing ?
Didn't get on the park to often last year
Looks the same this year
Last year it was well documented he had a quad injury
This year he got injured during the pre-season after NAB 2. I will be honest I got told what the injury was but I don't remember because I really don't see him our best 22 so the fact isn't playing doesn't phase me one way or another ;D
-
Very true
He ain't in our best 30

-
My mail is that he has been suspended .again
-
Wasn't he on his last chance? If he's been suspended again and the club haven't given him the full ass, then I don't hold any hope of Jackson et al getting dropped for poor form and it proves Craig Cameron and his Match Committee have NFI.
-
My mail is that he has been suspended .again
It will not serve as a suprise to anyone on this forum that you are wrong..................................again.
-
My mail is that he has been suspended .again
Let's play hypotheticals if he was suspended again (which he isn't but go with me on this ;D) why is training with the re-hab group?
If he's been suspended then why was he prepresenting the Club on Friday at Ch7 for the Children's Hospital appeal?
As I said I don't believe he's been suspended again. Perhaps it's time for a new mail man ;D
-
Oh snap
-
Suspended from playing.not from the club
Explain to me why isn't on the injury list ?
-
No one can explain .not even the club ;)
Very odd
-
Helbig is gone for 3 months but isn't on the injury list Jack.
Can you explain that or is it just a typo?
Why worry about Connors? He'll barely play footy this year and will be delisted at seasons end.
-
Suspended from playing.not from the club
Explain to me why isn't on the injury list ?
Funny I thought I had already this in one of my earlier post and Tucker has just covered it again
Which part dont you understand or are you just ignoring it because it suits your argument ;D
Will repeat: Helbig's out for 12 weeks with a serious foot injury and he's not listed so as I said before the Injury Lists for all clubs in the AFL are a joke
-
My mail is he is recovering from an injury, and the club doesn't care who the AFL publish or don't publish on the injury list as long as they know who is.
Also, it shouldn't be a shock to you JJ, Connors is not in our best 22, so even if he was in the main group, he wouldn't be playing AFL. :thumbsup

Are you really that thick that you cant comprehend that the reason that connors is not on the injry list is probably the same as to why helbig isnt on it?
it was explained to you quite clearly.
the injury list is a joke and very little notice should be taken of it.

It's a cycle, they buy themselves time, then when it goes pear shaped and even the most optimistic of fans have realized we've been sold a dud, they choose a scapegoat(usually the coach) poor it all on him, abstain from any responsibility then sell us a new improved plan and on it goes. :lol

Injured Jake King to miss a month
Matt Windley
From: Herald Sun
April 11, 2012
RICHMOND has confirmed midfield enforcer Jake King will miss at least a month of footy with a knee injury sustained in last weekend's loss to Collingwood.
"He'll be out for four to six weeks," football manager Craig Cameron said.
"He's hurt the posterior cruciate ligament that he hurt in 2009, so he's sort of re-aggravated that old injury, if you like."
Cameron said long-term injury concerns, defenders Kelvin Moore and David Astbury, were progressing well but were some weeks from returning via the VFL.
Moore, 28, did not play a game last season, having had several hip operations. Astbury, 21, suffered a season-ending knee injury in Round 12.
"Kel's still on the long-term injury list, which I think expires after Round 5," Cameron said.
"It just depends on whether he's ready to have a run at that stage. And David's probably two to three weeks away still.
"They've got to come back in and play (in the VFL) and prove their fitness and then they've got to prove their form is worthy enough of coming in.
"There's a time frame on when we'd like to get them match-ready, and that's two to three weeks in David Astbury's case and maybe a month for Kel Moore.
"But outside that, it's up to them to get their fitness and form to the level where they can be considered for senior selection."

Great to see Astbury off the Indefinite list and given a time frame to be injury free. Given his height, he could fill that second/third tall role. He was no immediate onfield star but I have high hopes for this kid :thumbsup
-
In regards to Astbury the 3 weeks is regarding a return to vfl footy?
And I know you can't measure how long it will take? But would they have projected a timeframe for him once back in vfl playing? Given he has to adjust, feel 100% and have confidence and form before being selecte for seniors?
Real pity about helbig, I would have loved to see him earn some serious game time in the seniors

If 3 weeks is right - would think that given he hasn't played for 12 months he would need a good solid 4-6 weeks at VFL level to get his match fitness up. I say 4-6 because his playing time will be monitored very closely you would have thought.
Eg: say week 1 - half a game at even perhaps VFL reserves level, week 2; 75% game time with then 4 weeks of full games (allowing for std rotations)
-
Don't reckon you'll see him in the seniors until after the bye

Brad says surgery means 3/4ers of the season is gone. Foot specialist told him 12-14 weeks.
-
Real shame about Helbig. Good to see time line with David. At least we know he will be playing VFL footy soon. It will take time for him to regain confidence and match fitness but at least he will be playing footy and not on sidelines

Luke McGuane (knee) 1 week
ON THE CUSP: Tyrone Vickery should be right after missing Saturday’s win with a calf strain, but the forward line looked dangerous without him so he might struggle to get back in. Jayden Post (six goals) and Daniel Connors (four) were impressive for Coburg, but ruckman Angus Graham could be missing for a while after he copped a red card for allegedly trying to kick an opponent in the groin. Defender David Astbury’s planned comeback game from knee surgery in the Coburg reserves was aborted and Luke McGuane may be out for the year with a knee injury.

VIDEO: In the Medical Room we talk about the bye week break and Helbig, Arnot, Morris, Grimes, Foley and Vickery

or

Matt Hornsby's summary
* Bye was good timing for the group to freshen up over the break after two tough games in the wet. They got away from the Club to train by themselves. Solid training session yesterday where the energy was good. Expect that tomorrow in preparation for the Adelaide game.
* Morris - trained well yesterday and we expect he'll train well later in the week and be ready to play Saturday.
* Grimes - pulled up well from Coburg game playing a half. Expect hm to train well tomorrow and be right for selection.
* Foley and Vickery - both are managing their issues. See how they go through the week and we'll make a call later in the week.
* Helbig- running strongly at the moment. With his strong progress, we expect to be back in training in next couple of weeks which should him back playing in a month or so.
* Arnot - training fully yesterday. So missed a couple of weeks with that ankle. If he gets through the full week of training there's no reason he won't play this weekend.
-
i think Foleys issue will be ongoing
for the rest of the year.
-
and next yr and forever, he has been lucky to play a few games with this injury
-
poor bastard.
I was just beginning to warm to him.
-
i really dont understand what football clubs have to gain by hiding a players injury.eg bruised heel as against an achilles..I mean word gets out ,and football clubs are left looking like idiots.Come on Benny and co,we the tiger supporters deserve better. You want us on board on this journey you are taking us,then be honest and upfront about the thing we the average mug supporter cares most about ..the players who represent the yellow and black.(I'm assuming here that axels injury is more than just the bruised heel we are told)
-
Longest bruised heel of all times ::)
See if he plays this week
-
technically they are not lying
the achillis insert intro the heel
its not simply an achilis problem as the heel is whats causing the achilis issues
-
i think Foleys issue will be ongoing
for the rest of the year.
Going to impact our fortunes enormously if that's the case.

Bruised heels are tricky, can be anywhere from 1 week to 3 months . . . we need him back in the centre though, his clearance work has been missed.

Yep and if an achilles, it will take along time

Apparently a bruised heel can take a long time to heal. ::)
;D
In all seriousness though,I had one when I was into long distance running and it took about 6 months to get over - buggers of things really.

Yeah they are! Bruised heels can take forever to heal. I once thought it would be fun to ride a mountain bike down the highest drop in a skate bowl. Went down, up the other side, and couldn't turn it around after getting about another 6ft of air lol. Landed on my heel and it was rooted for about 5 or 6 weeks.

I have had an achillies injury.most painfull thing I have ever experienced

Yeah you don't wanna try the Hukka with a busted gooch. Express ticket to squat rot.

Did the hukka twice with a bruised gooch on top of an esky
Took twice as long to heal

I busted a blood vessel in my gooch once after slapping it down on the table in a bar in Phuket to prove to some yank that it was a far more impressive gooch than his. Took ages to heal and it threw out my achilles.

Helbig has gone from indefinite to 2-3 weeks :cheers

Can somebody confirm wtf is going on with Foley? Has he trained at all? I heard he was meant to train in the main session before the adelaide game to make a final call about whether he plays... To me that would suggest hes probably right for this week however, has he trained at all this week? no ducks and drakes no smoke and mirrors just an insight into what going on please. This is just frustrating as a supporter and ridiculous that not one of the media throng that are afl certified cant stuffing get some information about this

They obviously rated him when they gave him that deal. And he will most likely be here again next year.
-
There is considerable doubt over Graham's future. With the greatest respect Coach I saw nothing in Graham's game which would justify his retention this week. The Suns game taught us there is a need for a quality back up ruckman at the club.
-
I thought Gus was well below par. Still easily the best ruck on the ground though. Their ruckman and Derrickx did SFA. Gus will play if Maric doesn't come up. Just gotta hope Maric is right.
-
The rucking and general play of Gus was horrific, shocking me right out of my brains

Hang on, there Ruckman (Smith) kicked Gus's arse!! At one point Gus just gave up and tried to rove Smith's tap himself :lol Gus has to go this week regardless........

Hang on, there Ruckman (Smith) kicked Gus's behind!! At one point Gus just gave up and tried to rove Smith's tap himself :lol Gus has to go this week regardless........
Let's get real here for a minute. I said it myself in the game thread, Gus is quite a poo player. But Smith had 7 touches and took one mark. He was beaten by Gus around the ground (and in a lot of ruck contests) which means either Gus was the best ruck out there or somehow Smith played a better game despite getting less ball, hitouts, marks, goals, tackles etc. Not saying Gus was good but he was better than any ruckman on the ground. That wasn't exactly hard but he was
Hopefully he plays for Coburg this week because that would mean I.Maric is back :thumbsup If Maric isn't back then Goose will get another crack.
-
Gold Coast won the hit out count, won the Clearance count and won the Goals fom clearances....nuff said tiger ;)
-
Think you will find that is because Derrickx was fairly worthless when he went into the ruck. He had 2 hitouts. or do we just bag the guy that at least got 20, had 11 touches and a goal?
-

Kingy - says his knee is going well and he got through training with the boys who played VFL. Rehab has been going well and the physios are happy. He'll train again Thursday with the main group and he, the doc, physios and Dimma will reassess things from there.
Helbig - got through the game in the Coburg ressies well and will up the workload and play in the Coburg seniors this weekend.
Batchelor - will undergo a fitness test later this week.
Griffiths - will train later this week before a decision is made on his fitness.

* Morris - He's fine. He's had a few problems with the shoulder through out the season but he manages it well.
* Griffiths - trained well Saturday and today. Showed good speed and did all the footy work. He will train Thursday and the Club expects him to be available to play this week.
* Batchelor - knee still a little sore and irritated since the Suns game. He won't play this week. The Club is hoping Batch will be available to play the following weekend. It depends on how he goes over the next week or so.
* Foley - returned to see the specialist today. Pleased with Axel's progress. The next initial step is a case of wound management to prevent infection. All going good there. Axel has started light activity doing upper body and core work. Also doing specific work with the coaches to fill in time.
* Helbig - moved really well and pulled up well after Coburg game. Puts himself in the frame for selection if the coaches want him.
* Astbury - Copped a poke in the eye. No structural damage and he pulled up fine so he's okay.

Says a lot about our depth that we could not cover 3 regular ones players (Grimes, Foley & Vickery). Arnot is yet to play a game and Batch was not consistently chosen as yet. Include the suspension to the usual idiots and it left us pretty slim at stages during the year.
Must increase our depth next year and get more capable players into our seconds. The structure at Coburg does not provide for balanced sides.
-
That injury list is really a joke.
On the same club website we have a video interview with Hornsby talking about the toe fracture to Reece Conca that will keep him out for the rest of the year.

Probably gone back home.

Gibson Turner had a hand injury but is still at the club.
I had him booked to come to a local school fete - good solid kid and will make an impact when he gets a go.

I believe Arnot is up in Alice Springs with Concs and Grimes on the outback tigers program accorfing to RFC twitter so I'd say he prob won't play as I imagine hed be with the main grp training if he was. And not with tgrims and concs.
Gibson Turner can have a bright future ahead of him from what I've heard, when he is ready and imo he isn't yet. He will be given a good run I'm sure of that, and show us what he's capable of.
