First segment they make their "calls" for Round 1.
Gerald calls Richmond a "certainty" against Carlton - we have lost our last 7 by an average of 8 goals FFS :banghead
Then Roosy "calls" Richmond to beat Collingwood and be 2 and zip
Smirks all round.
Fast forward to the last segment, Gerald asks Mike where the media caravan will be next Monday.
Richmond he replies stating that there has been a huge expectation built after a big pre season.
More smirks.
They love an easy target don't they?
I would think Nathan Buckley and Collingwood would be a bigger story.
The Roos or the Bombers - whoever loses.
Not 12th getting beaten by 5th.
I'm not overly confident of a win but am already stuffed off that if we do win it will be called hollow due to Carlton injuries.
Who the eff are they missing?
Duigan, Laidley - give me a break
Warnock? That is hardly going to hurt the Blues given our Ruck stocks.
Jameison and Walker are the main outs but if Carlton cannot cover those outs they are going to have a tough time making the 8 let alone the Top 4.
Mike, Gerald, Roosy - the pressure is all on the Blues. After all, as their coach said at he family day "this club is all about expectations". And they won't expect to lose to Richmond.
These effers can go and eff themselves.

yep they are setting us up for the fall, bit tongue in cheek though i reckon, the smirks were obvious and bottom line is most supporters are a bit more realistic these days, we know we're not a lock, blues have been close in most games syd won a flag on the back of about 5 years of zero wins in praccy games....
there'll only be a meltdown if its 2009 all over again and if that happens, we'll deserve everything we get :wallywink

People forget easily that the filth were minus 5 players for their semi against West Coast in Perth and fell short by 3 points even though the final quarter went 1hr 35 minutes and 45 seconds. :lol :rollin :lol
That should be enough for our boys to know that they still have to play their best to win.
As we all are aware the media love beating things up. :help

Hype and expectation before a big game is something we have continually failed to handle. In the past it's normally not just meant a loss is coming but a flogging :P. Thursday night is one more hoodoo this young side has to break. You're playing for a big club and potentially a massive one when the bandwagon gets going. For the hoodoo to break all 22 picked will have to have a love for wanting to play in these big games rather than becoming 22 deers in the headlights on the big stage as has always happened over the past decade or so.
As for the media they can't lose. If we lose especially badly then it'll be same old Richmond failing miserably again in round 1 and whether we deserve to keep this game; if Carlton lose especially badly then the media will just switch to Ratten being under immense pressure and whether the Blues will stick by him with Malthouse in the wings for 2013. Well I'm sure someone will push the latter barrow hard if we do flog Carlton and try to distabilise the Royal Parade scum and score Ratten's scalp. I'm tipping Ramps ;D.
