$2m gone because the company's CEO is an utter moronic tool.
They were Melbourne's only major sponsor too as the Dees have struggled to get another one and have just had Reach on their jumper as a tribute to Jim Stynes. Looks like the AFL will have to prop them up even more.

AFL club Melbourne have cut ties immediately with major sponsor EnergyWatch over a series of racist remarks made by the company's co-founder and chief executive.
The Demons said the comments, made by EnergyWatch's Ben Polis on Facebook, were 'disgraceful and abhorrent'.
'The board of the Melbourne Football Club today met to consider its sponsorships with EnergyWatch and Freedom SEO,' the Demons said in a statement.
'The comments made by their CEO are disgraceful and abhorrent.
'The club has terminated these sponsorships, effective immediately.'
The deal was reportedly worth $2 million per year to the Demons.

Had them tipped a bottom 4 finisher. Now I'm certain the won't win a game on the road and will struggle at home. Theycan compete with the Giants for the spoon and this time they won't get it by 'coaching for picks.'

I hate Melbourne and laugh at their current plight.
However if Energy Watch had any credibility and social responsibility they should still provide the moneys to the Dees the Victory and the Rebels and everybody else they had any agreements and deals with.
Can hardly blame the toffs for that.
What I do find humorous is the ineptness of fans on their website as well as Schwab's comments.
No wonder the club is in the state its in.
Too few actually care for this club and the majority are just indifferent. Happy to plod along and accept whatever failure they encounter as a part of existence rather than taking a stand.
No wonder the toffs go to the snow in Winter.

1. We thought there might have been something up with this bloke when he fell behind in his payments to us................ :stupid and
one of the media people asked him about the club scrutiny given to prospective sponsors and Schwabby claimed they were very thorough looking into the company and its board except the CEO's facebook page. :inquisition
I can't help but laugh at that footy club. Right now they are making Nought look good compared to them and they are both pathetic. :ROTFL

to be honest Tucker i couldnt care less right now about the MFC off field, it matters very little what they do off field if we do in fact lose our game against us.
That's the only thing i care about.
This game is massive and IMO will end the finals dream for one of the clubs

Yep Daniel I totally agree.
Mentioned it last week a loss to Melbourne and our season in terms of finals is shot considering we have Port, Sydney, Essendon Hawthorn and St Kilda in our next block of 5.
Hate to say it but we can be 0-10 as much as we can be 5-5 at that point in time.
Melbourne is a must win match. The way I see it our development and toughness this year as a side will be shown in how we go about games we are expected to win. Eg Melbourne, Brissy, GWS, GC and whether we can break a hoodoo against a St Kilda and Dogs team on the slide or whether they will still monster us.
