Dimma will coach his 50th game this week. How do you rate him as coach and the job he has done so far?
Here's what Dimma thinks ...
Dimma sees positive signs

Richmond coach Damien Hardwick has pointed to two areas of improvement within the Tigers’ game over the opening five rounds of the 2012 season that he believes are vital to the team’s plans for sustained success in the future.
Notwithstanding Richmond’s 1-4 record, Hardwick likes what he sees with the Tigers’ defence and midfield.
“There’s no doubt defensively we’ve improved,” he said.

Congrats to dimma
I'd give him a 7, but the real stuff starts now
-
I gave him 2 but only on his match day work so far.
During the week I'd give him 7.
Which makes him a very good assistant coach.

Gave him an 8. Has done everything he said he would and given the vagaries of the job has stuck very very close to his word. Can't ask for more than that up to this point.

-
6 for mine still so much too friggin do.
-
We are definantly on the right track and I'm liking the style of footy he has implemented. If we could play like he did ,tough, hard and consistent our next flag ain't that far away.
-
Greatest thing that has happened to the club imho.
Had an awesome night at the cocktail party.
Met Tiger fans young and old but the highlight was shaking Neville
Crowes hand.
The bloke that saved our great club in times of need.
I couldn't help having a sob.
Met alot of Tigers I've met either meeting pregame at bars or at games.
We still are the greatest team in the Country.
ONWARD THE TIGERS!
P./S. I got a taxi driver to sign up.I told him how awesome the Tiger is and there is no other animal on the planet that competes with the Tiger.
He was Indian and showed me his Tiger tattoo!!!!!!!!!!!
Tiger pride Tiger Passion!
Get out there lads and kill the Poor Power.
RICHMOND AND THE REST WAY DOWN BELOW!!!!!

Wasn't the question "How do you rate him so far"?
-
9 for mine so far.
Could barely be happier with our improvement from where we were coming from post Wallet.
Trekking as well as I could hope.
In Dimma we trust.
-
I think he is a top hand, he has and is building something positive for the first time in donkeys years I feel comfortable with our direction regardless of the ladder.
-
Dimma has a bit to do on match days to improve but his theory is sound.
Can't give anymore than 2 due to the fact that we haven't played finals and are curently sitting 1-4 with basically a full list.
Stats don't lie. No mater what is said if we are down the bottom he's not going well. simply as that...
-
6. Hasn't proven a thing as a match day coach.
-
Also about seven.
Thankfuk for changes to the list that were made dimma season and and two.

Interesting the different interpretations people have giving a rating. Some people seem to be basing their rating on our ladder position, others the state of the squad and yet others his game day ability. I'm not sure which is the correct method but I've based my decision on the improvement Dimma has made to the club he took over to this point.
The list was very poor when he adopted it. He came in with a definite plan and brought with him a strong group to support him. This I feel has been one of his greatest strengths - his ability to identify quality support staff and head hunt them. The greatest acquistion I believe he has made to our club is Blair Hartley. The work he does to identify players to trade and draft for plus how to shut individual opposition players down is exhaustive. Leppa has done wonders with developing our forwards and defenders body work and Ross Smith has made us a much better defensive team.
Dimma and his crew has educated and developed the players we have into a much more conhesive unit. We have spunk and are aggressive. We don't sit by and watch one of our players get knocked down or targeted. Our culture has always been a problem but Dimma seems to have turned that around. We now no longer give up and accept defeat. We never stop fighting out games. This is the most pleasing change to me.
We have found players with skill, good characters and ability. We don't put up with fools. Connors, Taylor etc are either gone or struggling to get a game. We have the skills now to cut through opposition zones where in the past we turned the ball over consistently. We have tough, uncompromising players now like King, Morris, Rance, Maric, Ellis, Arnot, Helbig and even Cotch & Batchelor. This is Hardwick mantra.
We have a clear game plan which doesn't change even week (ala Wallace). We are predictable to each other so we are becoming more instinctive and more decisive. We know what to do and when to do it and every player on our list knows how they expected to play in whatever position they play.
Overall I am extremely pleased by our progress to date. We are on the rise and are gaining depth. We have quality players on our list and our best players our still very young. All the signs are pointing in the right direction and for that I gave Dimma a 9.

The greatest acquistion I believe he has made to our club is Matt Hornsby.
Great post Striper and agree with all of it except I think you mean Blair Hartley. :)

Dimma getting credit for BH. Long bow to draw there. That's a March, Gale, CC appointment. Dimma may have been a reference but there is very little evidence to support that as Dimma's work. That restructure of the Footy Dept commenced well before Dimma came on board. Mid 2008 as I recall it.
-
Long bow is including March
-
and maybe even Helmut
-
March/The board initiated the full review of the club ops and footy dept. So why not credit March ?
-
I believe we have just hit the cross roads where all talk is cheep. Time for results.
Time to start beating the teams we should.
Time to beat one of the juggernauts of the competition.

does he get credit for drafting Cotchin?
-
March will only get credit when he changes his name to September! And here in lies the problem.....

Blair and Dimma stated it themselves at a function I attended this year.

Dimma stated he got BH & BH then stated Dimma got him to the Tigers
or
They both stated what HK Tiger stated :huh
-
They stated what Stripes stated about HK's statement. Get your head out of your ass, WP.

I gave him a 7.
Inherited a train wreck of a list and to be frank within half a season had us competitive with a bunch of kids after a horror start in 2010.
Will still cull at least 6-8 at the end of the year including possibly some blokes who were recruited in his era but at least now he has the team playing a consistent solid brand of footy that is competitive and all that we have wished of Tiger sides in recent years gone by.
This year has been the first year that Dimma can actually coach without having to gift games to kids and try and find a formula to build a side. His contract extension will only nurture the development of the kids and allow Dimma to continue the work he has started.
This year next year the plan is finals. To get to finals in 3 or 4 years after he took over is testamnet to him and the people who have come to the club in his time at Punt Rd.
Right now he is a 7. Finals and beyond with prolonged success and considering how success starved we are and this bloke will be getting 15's out of 10.
-
Very appreciative of him turning over our list of duds.
We are playing with an intensity we haven't had for ages.
-
Hes improving but sheesh he had to, bolstering the coaching ranks bw seasons has helped, our defense and midfield is much better and id credit alot of that to the panel. He has challenges tha t need to be overcome, i look forward to seeing him overcome conquer and destroy

5.. Still had alot more to do to change culture. If he can do that I'll give him a very high score.
