Injured Richmond players may return for Port Adelaide game

PORT Adelaide be warned, star Tigers Jack Riewoldt and Dustin Martin have awoken from their form slumps.

And Richmond's most damaging duo is set to build on an encouraging display against West Coast when the Tigers confront the Power at AAMI Stadium on Sunday.

"Good players find form," Richmond defender Steve Morris warned. "There's no doubt Jack has been disappointed with his start to the season but we've just got to get behind him and support him. As long as he's doing the necessary things defensively, we know that his offensive game is as good as any forward in the AFL so it will come. As you saw last week, he was starting to clunk some good marks, kick some goals and get back the passion that he shows so often when he's playing well. It's good to see."

After sluggish starts to the season, Riewoldt and Martin each conjured five shots on goal against the Eagles at Etihad Stadium. And Martin, viewed as a future superstar of the competition, found his groove with 26 disposals and four clearances.

"Dustin, he's only 20 years of age and you forget that," said Morris, last year's best-and-fairest at SANFL club West Adelaide.

"Jack is only 23 and when you talk about key forwards in the competition the best ones are 25 and 26. And when you talk about midfielders, there are not too many at the age of 20 who can dominate games like Dustin can."

While the Tigers will be without the suspended Daniel Jackson, Morris said they will be steeled to earn the reward on the premiership table which has eluded them this season.

"Richmond players as well as supporters are just sick of not having finals success," Morris said.

"And it's about time the Richmond Footy Club changed that. From our performance indicators, we're definitely improving but it really comes down to getting the four points on the board so you can climb up the ladder rather than being down the bottom end.

"It's just finding that consistency, not only as individuals, but as a team we've found it's been 10-minute bursts of footy that has really let us down and cost us games."

Gotta love the sub-editors and their headings.

Where in the article does it mention injured players returning?

More talking the talk before walking the walk. Doesnt bode well.

Just wish we would STFU and let our football catch up with the hype.

I dont like reading these articles either, but the media report what they want to report. They saw two of our stars in Jack and Dusty begin to look dangerous last weekend so they asked Morris questions about them. Of course Morris is going to pump them up, but these 'journalists' would have written the same article regardless.
