1980 is still our record year when we averaged home crowds of 50,864. Last year we averaged 42,784.

Could be better. Our crowd against WC was 10,000 down because these 10,000 tiger supporters don't love the club enough to drive an extra 5km to Etihad. Probably should be 55,000 average home for home games
-
Our highest ever season average of home attendances is 50k in 1980

Win bigger games = more people!

Look at Carlton.. Would rather pay to go to matches than buy memberships..
Idiots who don't sign up.
Why is Essendumb's so low?

Will go well into the 60's once we are killing it.

people didn't show because it was Sunday night.

and I think this was the reason for alot of people not going to that game the fact that it was at etihad didn't have as much an effect on those crowd numbers against westcoke. Families don't like Sunday night games IMO.

Some just prefer to pay cash - untraceable

Sunday night?
the game started at 3.15pm and was over by 6.00pm don't think that can be classified as being at "night"

Carlton's stats are helped by the fact they played Collingwood in a blockbuster in their first home game and followed up with Essendon in their next home game a week later.
Collingwood got 57K against us and were the home team on Anzac Day.
Essendon's chance comes this week being a home team against us.
We win this week and we can boost our home gate with a big crowd against Hawthorn next week. :thumbsup
-
Our supporters need to show up to away games. The crowd against Pies in Round 2 was very disappointing. You'd expect a game like this so early in the season to attract 70,000 at the very least. 10,000 tigers jump off the bandwagon after 1 loss. Lack of passion and excitement to be at the game

the round 2 crowd was very disappointng because the team that boasts they have 70k members could only draw a total 60k to its first home game of the season
Would think those numbers say more about Pies supporters than Tiger fans

Sounded like there were 15,000 tiger fans there. Quite a few tigers a bit precious with their money 8)
-
Has nothing to do with being precious about money. I didnt go, I choose not to give money to the enemy. I buy my RFC membership every year. I contribute to JD Foundations and Fighting Funds. I think its incredible that some Richmond people think it appropriate to make other Richmond people feel bad even if they make a decent yearly contribution. Personally I think that attitude stinks. Anyone who buys a Richmond membership is good enough supporter for me.

last year in Darwin it sounded like there was about 10 tiger fans there, yet they easily outnumbered the enemy.
were those tiger fans and all the others who travel to interstate games precious about their money.
Is it true that you yourself wont go interstate to follow the tigers? Precious about money or just not a true supporter?
FFS give it a break. The collonwoood game was during the easter extra long weekend.

Ease up, al. You're bagging a former school footballer here.
-
poo, forgot about that.
respect!

I hate that attitude. You are supposed to want to be there to watch your team and make noise and get behind them. That's a supporter.

Don't we split the gate with Essendoom.
At least, that's what i thought. :huh

Apologies to Flags.
Maybe i should have read a couple of previous posts. :-[

I'm with Madtiger. If they game is in Melbourne, you need to have a good excuse not to go. I think it would make a massive difference to the boys out there having a rawkus tiger crowd behind them.
As if you wouldn't want to go to the game anyway, regardless of whose home game it is. Going to the footy is one of life's greatest pleasures.
-
Especially if you stop by the bin rooms in the Ponsford

totally agree! Personally I wont go to any Collingwood game, purely because I hate them so much! >:( As for other away games, maybe some of us are the only Tiger tragics in the home, I have my membership but I also have other commitments, we all do what we can :gotigers

The Tigers have attracted crowds of 50,000-plus to four of their matches
Round 1 v Carlton at the MCG: 78,285
Round 2 v Collingwood, MCG: 57,268
Round 8 v Essendon, MCG: 80,900
Round 9 v Hawthorn, MCG: 51,617
We're also averaging home crowds of 55k at the 'G.

LMAO worst in the league besides the 2 new teams. hahaha
-
While the side didn't turn up to play, credit to our supporters for turning up in large numbers once again. It was the 6th largest ever H/A attendance against Fremantle.
R1 2003 45,436 vs Adel @ AAMI
R1 2008 45,383 vs Coll @ MCG
R10 2007 44,480 vs Coll @ MCG
R13 2009 44,114 vs Coll @ MCG
R7 2002 44,058 vs Adel @ AAMI
R11 2011 43,801 vs Rich @ MCG
R21 2006 43,527 vs WCE @ Subiaco .... biggest WA derby crowd ever

true but we all can see the culture is changing.
Hopefully all the postives from this year will help the teams belief, winning mentality and culture that makes them better for next years season and beyond.

Our home crowd average will take a bit of a hit this week given we're playing in Cairns in a 10k 'stadium' but up to now we still have the 3rd highest home crowds :thumbsup.

The paper yesterday mentioned that all but two clubs (Adel and Bris) had lower home crowds this year compared to last year. We're on 42,114 per game at the moment. We'll need 92,000 over our last two home games to pass last year's total and average.
http://stats.rleague.com/afl/crowds/2012.html
We're still in the top 4 for home crowds btw despite playing a home game up in Cairns and our season falling away thanks to all those narrow losses.
-
No great surprise with drop in crowds
Had to laugh in yesterday's HUN when Patrick Keane from the AFL said about the drop "we were expecting it"
Please ::)
-
What our current home crowd average, i take it yesterdays numbers were all up ::)

be - 5 this weekend, l seen enough last week from McGoofy to keep me away from watching Richmond games till they get rid of the below average VFL development footballers down there. l'm still copping poo from all club supporters over McGoofy's game that l had enough. Get serious down there. Every other club dont have & never have had players like we recruit :banghead
