Title: MCG's 100 millionth fan - this Saturday at our game
Post by: one-eyed on May 21, 2012, 01:38:17 PM
It could be you  ;D ...

The MCG will join a very exclusive club when the grand old stadium records its 100 millionth patron to have attended a VFL/AFL game at the venue.

AFL chief executive Andrew Demetriou said the AFL would formally mark the milestone at next Saturday’s Round 9 match between Richmond and Hawthorn at the spiritual home of the game.

Full details of the opportunity for supporters to win significant prizes at the Richmond v Hawthorn match will be detailed early this week.

On a quick calc about the 30,000 mark and you're in with a shot! On a side note with cricket and us getting all home games there in years gone by I am at or around 500 visits myself.  :gobdrop

Celebrating 100 million MCG footy fans
mcg.org.au

The mechanics of selecting the winning supporters to compete for the car and ticketing / membership prizes will apply as follows:

• Toyota promotional staff will hand out ‘Toyota thunder sticks’ in the pre-match arrival period.
• A ‘face in the crowd’ selection on the MCG screens will take place for two fans in the immediate pre-match period and for a further two fans at the quarter-time break, for those supporters holding up / waving their Toyota thunder sticks.
• One supporter will be selected from each of the following areas – MCC Reserve, AFL Members Reserve, Richmond supporter area, Hawthorn supporter area.
•  At half time, the four selected fans will each be given a key in an attempt to unlock the car. The winning key will receive the Toyota Camry Hybrid HL and MCC ticketing package, with the other three fans to each receive two 10-year AFL memberships.

Snip!  ::)

When they say Richmond supporter area do they mean cheer squad or any random area?
It sounds like they'll choose one person each from of the MCC, AFL reserve, Ponsford stand (Hawthorn supporters) and Southern/Olympic stands (Richmond supporters)
