Tigers in clash strip

Richmond will wear its clash guernsey with black shorts in tonight’s Round 10 match against St Kilda (white shorts) at Etihad Stadium.
The AFL has deemed the traditional Tiger strip now clashes with the Saints, as well as Essendon, Port Adelaide and West Coast.
It will be the first time Richmond has worn black shorts with the clash jumper.
The Tiger players also will wear special purple tops for their on-field, pre-game warm-up, to help raise awareness for the Club’s preferred charity partner The Alannah and Madeline Foundation

Crazy stuff. I am not averse to clash jumpers but why get the black off the side of the jumper and keep it on the shorts?

Since when have the away team worn black shorts?

Total crock of bs.

Who gives a stuff what colour our shorts are as long as someones knocks out Milne.

We have managed to play these teams since before any of us were born without it being a problem. Havent these guys got anything better to do than try and change the game. Total BS I agree.

Prefer us in the black shorts. This will now only make sense if the Saints are wearing white shorts.

I can't understand us wearing a clash jumper but I'm a traditionalist we are the away side and we should have been wearing white shorts. Not that wearing the black ones matters but.........
Like in the 1970's on muddy suburban grounds e.g Us and Essendon, Collingwood, Geelong and Nought, St Kilda with Essendon, Melbourne, Fitzroy and Bulldogs.
I just feel that the AFL has tampered too much with some of the traditions of the game and the rules.
Alas their legacy will be how much they have changed the little things in the game which when you add them all up mean so much.
