Title: I need some advice

My son is 15 this year (plays in a regional u15 side) and is in a Tac development squad. Next year he wants to skip U16's and go straight to U18's. Is the VAFA a better alternative to Regional leagues, development-wise?

Jack actually may know the answer to this specific conundrum.

I would think that development would vary from club to club, coach to coach rather than league to league. It's just that some kids seem to appear on the Tac cup radar easier in some leagues than others. Do some research and see which clubs produce the most kids for tac cup sides.

Having said that though,we had kids choosing to play seniors at my club in a bush league under a former ovens and murray senior player rather than to head into under 18's ovens and murray (as is normal practice for talented juniors as they come under the notice of the murray bushrangers) as they felt their development would improve under the coach, rather than the league.

that probably is more a club to club basis rather than league to league

I do know the answer actually
Direct message me with the club he is currently at
VAFA has great junior development ,although school footy (private schools) are highly regarded
Big question is does he go to private school where playing for your school is a priority to the school..so TAC comes second.as the schools won't release kids to play TAC

Thanks fella's :thumbsup. No he doesn't go to a Private School and is currently playing for a Metro side. I'm concerned with the dearth of Coaching in the area but in any case he wants to play for a local VAFA side. He will probably stay in the TAC development squad anyway although I'm beginning to think it is too much at this stage. I'll just suss-out the Coaches in the VAFA side and go from there. I started the thread because I don't know much about the VAFA. Again....thanks for your responses.
