Due to the fixture our fellow bottom eight competitors will be cutting each others throat over the next ten weeks so no, at this stage it is not 'do or die'. However, to really begin to consolidate our position we need to win one of these games against top 4 opposition.

Today is one of 4 'must win' games as far as this season goes. Adelaide, Essendon, Fremantle and Carlton are the 4 games that will define our season and say whether we make the finals or not. We can easily win all 4 or lose all 4 and the more of them we win, the more likely we are to make the 8. So today in itself is not 'must win' but collectively it sure is.

Yep really important game, have to win against one of the better sides after losing to Freo to make the 8, and then beat every rubbish side below us.
This is an opportunity we have to take, especially while the pressure is lower compared to what it will be like as we get into late July and August.
A win today and a top 8 finish is probably more than likely.
I'm concerned though our form has been tracking towards a season collapse. Hopefully the break and the inclusions of a few better players will have a positive effect.

like i said today is a must win game, lose today kiss finals hopes goodbye. lose today we go on the back foot again, playing catch up is not the way, we must make a stand , make a statement and get in the 8 and stay in it

I agree huge game for the club we are well adapted to wet weather footy these days ( not saying it suits us ) and like playing at Bogan park but it should have a a advantage somehow :huh...
Need a huge game from our forwards i back Tuck and Cotch and lids in the wet anyday of the week .
Connors kicks another 3 ,Edwards 3 ,Jack 3 and our mids 3 should be enough in these dismal conditions.
Really up to Connors he is the mismatch for my liking

I would have loved to see Foley in the team. We REALLy miss him. He is the unique inside and outside player - his speed on the outside can really hurt teams.
Alas, we will have to try to win without him.... :( :( :banghead :banghead :banghead

Today we must right the wrong of the frematle loss.

If it's a 2-3 goal loss today I will still hold out some hope for the finals and that we are thereabouts with the better sides. We still don't really know if Adelaide is a genuine Top 4 side. We can actually have a pretty big say in whether they are.
But anything more than a 5 goal loss today and I would lose a bit of confidence in our season.

Big game. Goes to show how much dropping the Freo game and not taking one of the narrow misses in the 5 first rounds might come back to bite us in the bum.

Agree mate when we lost to west coast with their low rotations and 2 injuries Chris Newman's reaction pretty much summed up the season , close but not good enough ....I am a half glass guy but we need to redeem ourselves make a statement the Hawthorn win was by far and a way the best thing to happen this season ... If that same mentality is brought into the game today and we give Adelaide a lesson in football we have arrived
The season is truly in our own hands
kangas game will probably be our make or break i feel if things turn to poo today
-
every game is MUST WIN. :thumbsup

A win would make a statement and should see us in the top 8 within 2-3 weeks; a loss would mean in 3 weeks we'll most likely be where we are now (on % outside the top 8).
