Cogs re-signed for another 3 years
Woohoo!!!
-
The only time I've listened to the Head Meister this year - actually it's only the 2nd time I've watched TFS this year.
Goods news this signing - and it was never in doubt ;)
-
Woohoo! :) :) :)
Cogs: "I'm happy to stay at Richmond for 3 years and more"
He has a smart head on his shoulders. Answered all the questions he was asked on TFS perfectly.
See ya back in 2-3 weeks champ :)
One down and one to go!
the cynic might say it's a nice diversion to announce it tonight after the last few days but who cares. It's great news.

Outstanding Richmond youngster Mark Coughlan has agreed to a new three-year contract which will keep him at Tigerland until at least the end of the 2007 season.
Coughlan, one of Richmond’s finest recruits of recent seasons, won the Jack Dyer Medal in 2003 after finishing third in the club best-and-fairest award in 2002.
Richmond director of football Greg Miller said the club was absolutely delighted to re-sign the 22 year-old who possesses 'leadership qualities'.
It's understood Coughlan has received plenty of interest from the Western Australian-based clubs, but Miller said the former Perth boy, who was drafted at No.25 in the 2000 National AFL Draft, had shown 'good faith' to remain at Richmond.
“He’s signed a three-year deal with the club, which is outstanding news for us,” Miller told Sportal.
Coughlan, who has played just five matches this season and missed the past four games due to osteitis pubis, is expected to return to senior football in the next 2-4 weeks.
But Miller said the extent of the injury would not hold him back from being a decade player at Punt Rd.
“We’ve spent a lot of time with the medical staff and we believe that he has at least 10 more seasons of AFL football in him,” Miller said.
Coughlan has played 47 games since making his debut against Geelong in round nine 2001.
He was the Tigers’ leading possession winner in 2003, and was an AFL Rising Star nominee in 2002.

There was a rainbow over Punt Road oval yesterday and with everything that has been happening of late, I wondered why it was there.
All made sense a few hours later when I heard the news on the Footy Show last night. :) ;)
I was one of those people punching the air that Eddie was talking about. :)

Go Tiges.

What i find both amusing and suspicious is the fact that
the club waited until they absolutlely needed a positive
before they announced the Cogs re-signing.
ie- The Campbell Fiasco and admissions of financail ruin.
-
To be fair Ox, the Club did say that they were going to move on getting him signed over the next month or so. Negotiations only took about a week and it seemed a pretty easy decision for Cogs to make.
And he has said all along that he wanted to be here his whole career.
The way we have been going, the timing of the announcement was probably always going to seem orchestrated, regardless of when it was made.
