Derickx presenting well and marking up the wing but can't kick. 3 possies for 3 turnovers.
Melee in Coburg's defence. Clifton, Gus, Derickx and Astbury involved in it. We give a free away for a seven point play.

I'm desperate for Elton to show something so he replaces brainfade McGaune next week :pray.

Umps as dumb as the Coburg players. Elton 60m out kicks long and it's a free to Coburg but the ump calls advantage and the Coburg player with the ball (Masters) is caught and it's paid holding the ball.
Quarter Time
Coburg 0.0-0
N.Blues 8.3-51
Geez I wonder why we want our own VFL ressies side :wallywink.
Commenators saying Brad Miller isn't playing. I don't think that would make a difference boys :nope.
Astbury, Darrou, Derickx, Elton, Graham, Verrier and Webberley playing.
-
Helbig playing as well. I haven't heard O'Hanlon's name called.
If there is any injuries or suspensions at Richmond this week the match committee will know the cupboard is bare at Coburg. Every kick forward of centre bar two were turned over. Derickx probably had the most possies but he turned it over as many times.
Potter is a spud of a coach. Has an inside mid like Carnell playing out on a wing when Coburg can't get their hands on the footy.
-
Is anyone playing for coburg
-
10 turnovers in the back 50 for 5 goals.
Mids being smashed in 50/50 balls.
No talking or sticking to structures.
In other words Coburg is crap lol :yep.
Another defensive turnover (Masters) in the first minute of the 2nd qtr.
-
Is anyone playing for coburg
Apparently not about 12 of them lined up for Richmond last night. :thumbsup
-
Is anyone playing for coburg
Apparently yes Chucky but it's questionable if Coburg are playing what we would call 'Football'.
Miller is playing btw. I don't know what the commentator was talking about earlier.
-
Astbury down - clash of heads. He's wobbly so they're taking him off.
Clutching right eye socket/cheek :-\

So he's having his usual impact as he normally does on any game.

Carnell with Coburg first shot on goal for the game.

O'Hanlon is playing as well. First time I've heard his name mentioned today.

Commentators reckon Verrier has been pretty good today.

Had to be resuscitated when he heard Addam Maric was still in the side. Explains his poor form today. Poor kid. :shh
-
seriously this is why players lose interest & why some walk away from the club.
-
Webberley goal brings the margin back under 100.
Junk time started before half-time.
-
Blues have switched off so Coburg have had a few forward entries in in the last 5 minutes. Miller marks but misses the set shot.
36 - 137
Now Verrier has done his shoulder :(

IF, and thats a big IF, that was the case it would say something about the kids character, and he should take a leaf out of tucky's book. That (Tucky) is is the sort of character we need, not those that turn turtle when things don't go their way.
FWIW, Id be more inclined to put it down to the inconsistency of youth.
-
Goal to Murphy beings it back under 100 again.

Goals: Miller, Derickx, Elton, Webberley, Jordon, Murphy
The cupboard is definitely bare then add two more possibly season-ending injuries to Astbury and Verrier.
-
of course the cupboard is bare. our depth is being severely tested in the seniors, which means that those that have been remotely close to performing at coburg are now playing with richmond rather coburg.
It's a pretty simple flow on effect and i cant understand how so many people cannot recognise this
-
it dont matter anyway, the season was over last month. no-one will miss anyone & no-one cares anymore ;D
-
Almost sounds like this club has pulled the pin.what happens next year when the players of this club know theres a big chance their club wont exist in 2014?

Coburg coach Adam Potter didn't concede the imminent fracture of the Coburg-Richmond alignment played a role in his side's big defeat.
He said the relationships between the players established across its 12-year association were still intact, despite the recent board bickering.
"We're going to be an alignment again next year and a lot of them (the players) are good mates and they get along well," Potter said.
"I don't think it has an impact at all.
"As a coaching group and a playing group you don't really get caught up in the off-field stuff. I guess that's for the board and general manager Jake McCauley to look after those sides of things."

Development coach Greg Mellor's summary of how the Richmond-listed players performed at Coburg last Sunday ...
Seniors
Ben Darrou
An improved performance. Ben’s ability to use the ball well and make smart decisions under pressure continues to be a real strength. Also displayed better defensive techniques, which is something he has been working really hard on.
Dave Astbury
Played key back and started the game very well. His positioning was quite good and he appeared confident, strong and aggressive. It was the best Dave had looked since returning from his long-term injury. Unfortunately, however, he received a heavy knock to the eye and took no further part in the match. Thankfully, it was not too serious and he should be right to play on the weekend.
Todd Elton
We were really pleased with Todd’s efforts last Sunday. As a key forward, he marked well and was constantly active and providing an option for teammates to kick to. His defensive efforts also were much better, in particular his tackling and chasing.
Steve Verrier
Another positive game from Steve. He tagged a quality opponent in David Ellard and did quite a reasonable job, reducing his impact and working hard offensively, himself, to pick up 24 possessions. The past couple of weeks have been a great experience for Steve. He is learning a lot about defensive positioning and how to play on good players.
Angus Graham
Dominated the hit-outs again, but the team’s midfielders were not able to make full use of this. Angus anticipated impacting more around the ground and was disappointed with his performance.
Tom Derickx
Tom started well with a couple of strong contested marks, and looked dangerous up forward, but the team did not get the ball in often enough for him to have sufficient opportunity to impact.
Brad Miller
Played a solid game without dominating. Was used mainly up forward, but also spent a little time in the midfield. Took three good marks inside the forward-50 area, but finished the match with just 1.2. Brad would have expected to convert at least one, if not both, those misses.
Brad Helbig
A mixed bag from Brad. We loved his physicality and intent around the contest. His willingness to hunt the football and opponent was excellent. Unfortunately, though, his kicking, which is normally a strength, was a bit off. He missed a few targets by foot that he’d usually be expected to hit.
Jeromey Webberley
‘Jezza’ found a lot of the ball and was the team’s leading possession-winner, with 25 touches. But, although he got a lot of the ball, we would have liked his disposal efficiency to have been higher.
Brett O’Hanlon
Brett had a very disappointing first quarter, with minimal impact, so it was good to see him finish the game with 20 possessions. The confidence gained from working his way back into the contest, after a poor start, will stand him in good stead in the future. His kicking ability continues to be a highlight.
Development
Andrew Browne
Again played development for greater game time in the ruck and dominated the hit-outs with 57. His marking improved over the course of the game and he is now starting to jump hard at the ball.
Piva Wright
Another good performance from Piva. His defensive game was quite strong. He was able to successfully implement a number of defensive techniques that he has been working on. His offensive disposal and decision-making was excellent.
