Title: Hardwick on SEN

Dimma will be on shortly (before 5pm)

Summary:

* Selwood MRP decision when he shoved his brother on the ground - Dimma said "they (MRP) are taking the pee surely!". He would challenge it if it was him.

* We'll only take on what we can control and hope for a bit of luck in other games. Freo wanting to do what we want to do which is win this week's game.

* Lengthy conversation with the playing group after Carlton loss. We decided won't rest players or put them in for ops. We'll get them through to the end of the season and try to finish the season strongly.

* We started season well but didn't get over the line against Geel & West Coast. We are still a young & developing side and not wanting to make that an excuse but we need to get better to win those games. We can't afford those laps of concentration for 10 minutes (eg: on the weekend with the Bulldogs kicking 5 goals in a row early in the 3rd qtr).

* Edwards - first year with Dimma was good. Last year a bit quieter but back to good this season. Dangerous player to play on as he has speed to get ball to boot quickly. Just needs to compose himself a bit more and he'll be a 40 goal-a-year player.

* Where will improvement in 2013 come from? Vickery played just 10 games this year; Grimes played 10; Batch the same; Foley to come back in. A couple of free agents and draftees to add next year. Need to add a few more pieces but we believe we have the core to go forward now.

These were the two points that sparked my interest.

Edwards does seem to have stepped up this year but this is more due to Dimma finally finding him a home. Edwards plays best as a HFF where he can crumb and move up to the wing as part of the rotations. He has that elusiveness and pace to cause the opposition problems but will never have the size to win his own contested ball.

Where we will improve was also a interesting. The biggest improvement in 2013 will come from Vickery, Grimes and Foleys return plus any free agents we secure. Draftees will not make a significant difference to our side next year no more than Ellis did this year but probably will make a greater difference long term.

Dimma - more action less talk.

AFL 360 - question was asked of Rocket Eade & Bomber Thompson- when do you expect to play finals after taking over a side - both answered 3 years

His best cost us a finals series.  He really stepped up.  Now instead of losing us games in the middle, he is losing us games in the forward line.  Champion.

Gold Coast, North Melbourne, Carlton.  Edwards 2 Goals 7 Behinds.

Edwards has kicked 23 goals this season, 22 of which came after he was moved to the forward line in Round 8. Thats 22 goals in 12 games as a small forward. Is doing his new role well.

OK then. We'll get rid of Edwards and bring in one of our other proven goal sneaks like....um....like..... :huh   :P

Edwards is one our best forwards atm and looks dangerous on the run. He is not perfect by any stretch of the imagination but he is playing better football than Nahas and Maric Minor at present.

Interesting that Dimma mentioned more than one free agent. It fits in with the rumours about Chaplin and Russell (not that I want Russell whose decision making is his major flaw. Hello to turnovers in the back half :help. )

Sarcasm noted TM lol ;).

Russell will quickly become the new whipping boy if he ends up at Tigerland. Mind you he'll be use to that as he's the whipping boy for Blues supporters.

Cameron working hard on Greeny and Brucey. They're set on retiring but they know CC is interested in working with them again. They're still set on retiring and I don't blame them ;D

Russell won't be coming to Tigerland imo. When I spoke to a player recently he knew all about the Chaplin rumour but hadn't heard a word about Russell. If this player hasn't heard even a murmur about Russell I've very skeptical about him coming to Punt Rd.

Can't be 100% certain but just doesn't make sense to me.
