Fixture formula on cards

A SPECIAL formula could be used to work out which teams will have the luxury of playing competition 'easy beats' Gold Coast and Greater Western Sydney twice in 2013.

Planning for next season's fixture is well underway, but any thought of a conference system have been quashed with AFL chief operating officer Gillon McLachlan insisting that idea, and others, would create "big pitfalls".

"It is a real issue, and we're upfront about it, saying it's imperfect," McLachlan told 3AW.

"I think that the expansion phase of Gold Coast and GWS has been a challenge, that probably has been a greater one than we anticipated in terms of its impact on the fixture."

McLachlan admitted teams who face the Suns and Giants twice are potentially provided with an extra advantage, and it's something they have to work though.

"We'll work [out] how we mitigate that in 2013," he said.

"We might have to be pretty prescriptive about who plays those guys twice."

Adrian Anderson would be more a sin/cos guy because he loves to go off on tangents with the rules of the game  :wallywink.

Anyway I hope this all means we get to play GWS twice next year (at the 'G and Skoda) given our Cairns deal means we only play the Suns once up in FNQ stupidly giving up home ground advantage :scream.

They should concider the ones that got less against them in 2012 as to get more in 2013. If Adel and North get two against each next year I will spew. One other way (the way I would of liked from year 1) would be most teams get 3 games against them in total. I cant see how that would be that hard to work out.

WE struggled against both sides this year - just avoid further embarrassment and request to play them once each but in Melbourne

Let other sides have the "easy draw"

I would have the 15th and 16th team play them twice, that's the only fair scenario ... you can't have any team between 7th and 12th having them twice ... very unfair!
