-
I was susspepct as to why this was posted but great thinking Ruanaidh the more people that see this the better. It is terrible what has happend and the dude in the blue hoodie looks shifty as. Hope they find him and her soon.
-
Your gunna know if you were there and someone has been spotted, so i would dare say if this person doesn't show up well?
-
whatever's happened its highlighted the need for my daughter to be taught at a young age to observe her surroundings.
As drugs become more prevalent in society so does the increase in the number of weirdo's floating around.
-
Too many weirdos these days. Why can't we all just get along? I hate nutters.
-
Its hard to get a grip on how some people can be so stuffed
-
Blue guy looks like a desperado. Poor girl.
-
This is across the road from my missus' work. Pretty bloody creepy. There are enough shady sorts walking down that road on a good day let alone during the witching hours.

At one stage in my life I managed a program for ex-offenders that included several 'half-way' houses. In this area we had several from our organisation and other welfare NFP's. On the mentality of sex-offenders I can tell you that once they are on the scent they are like a hunting dog. I have met a few notorious figures. The only way to dissuade them is to put fear into them.....it's all they understand, base human instincts. I can't for the life of me understand why we wouldn't have a high Police presence in areas such as this at bar closing times given their knowledge of what is out there.

Came across this today - it's an old report from 2011, but the area of Royal Park not far from Brunswick I would have thought - kind of fair like this chap and well, why not raise it.

I'm so glad you said that Daniel and not "I'll get my daughter in self-defence classes" - which should come after. I'm sorry but your daughter needs to be told that the most important thing is to make herself a small target. These offenders don't want the hassle and will move on to somewhere/someone else.

I think you could be onto something Moi. There certainly is a resemblance and his behaviour is very sus.
I wonder if the police have interviewed the driver of the tram that appeared at 1:41:30. The blue hoodie guy was directly outside the store at time the tram passed and may have got a good look at his face.

Yes being questioned at St Kilda Road Police complex but has not been charged
41 y.o man from Coburg the Age web-site is reporting
-
Mentions the questioning of a suspect like already said here, but also talks about other CCTV footage from a shop 300m down the street. Sounds like this creep had her picked out all along

not Roy from Coburg? Sorry to the OP, had to be said.
this is rather creepy
-
Hope that they've genuinely tagged the SOB that's done this. Won't bring her back though. Bloody terrible.
-
Yep given the few people who have come forward after being pushed off bikes and assaulted I am glad this filth is off the streets. If this bloke is guilty of all this then it's a shame it has come to this for this filth to be caught. Won't bring Jill back unfortunately.
Reminds me of the interest and panic generated by Paul Charles Denyer in Frankston in 1993.
This guy arrested tonight possibly graduated to serial killing on Friday night and I am thankful he has been apprehended.
Daniel totally agree with you mate I have a daughter too and worry about her now let alone when she'll be going out. Scary stuff.
-
Tell your daughters not to get wasted outta their mind too........might help.

That is sage advice for anyone, female or male. Andrew Rule has been attacked by feminists for intimating the same, bloody disgrace and I told them so.
-
On the ABC they just said the police are expecting to in a couple hours to charge a man (more like a piece of scum) with rape and murder. At this time they are saying the scum acted alone.
-
Capital Punishment :huh
Not religious myself but don't most of them books say an eye for an eye :huh
-
Found the body this morning - Let the Husband or Mother pull the switch :banghead
-
Good to hear that this has finally come to a head. Neck the prick.
-
Being an opportunistic crime this tragedy could have been prevented and lessons learned will hopefully save others. But in the end it was the fault of one person only and he should never walk among us again.
-
I also hope that the other lesson to be learned is if you are harrassed by some whacko in the street, like some women in the area have claimed to have been in the past few months go the the cops & report it.
It's been very disturbing to hear what's been on facebook and in the media - ie the number of women of saying they've been approached but they did nothing about it
As for the piece scum they've charged - he is the perfect reason to bring back capital punishment
-
Capital Punishment :huh

Actually that all depends on what you want to take out of them books.
it first appears in a list a rules about retribution and punishment (which clearly shows that god does not have a problem with slavery, by the way)
Most of these specify whether the rule applies to the victim being a man, woman or both. in this case it is specifically a pregnant woman.
“When men strive together and hit a pregnant woman, so that her children come out, but there is no harm, the one who hit her shall surely be fined, as the woman's husband shall impose on him, and he shall pay as the judges determine. But if there is harm, then you shall pay life for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot, burn for burn, wound for wound, stripe for stripe.
but if you prefer the modern hippy style to the old fire and brimstone kill them all, then JC said;
You have heard that it was said, ‘An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth.’ But I say to you, Do not resist the one who is evil. But if anyone slaps you on the right cheek, turn to him the other also.
you can pretty much take what you want out of them books

Personally, I'm a fan of Hammurabi's law code.
130. If a man violate the wife (betrothed or child-wife) of another man, who has never known a man, and still lives in her father's house, and sleep with her and be surprised, this man shall be put to death, but the wife is blameless.
195. If a son strike his father, his hands shall be hewn off.
196. If a man put out the eye of another man, his eye shall be put out.
197. If he break another man's bone, his bone shall be broken.
21. If any one break a hole into a house, he shall be put to death before that hole and be buried.
But in all seriousness, I support capital punishment.

I saw this on facebook, it looks a genuine article.
Xxxxxxxxxxxx
If it is the real deal, he'd been caught twice already!!
Police probably knew of him and that's how they found him.

Wayne there are many websites that have the same info and more but it is 'Sub judice' to display his 'priors in a Public forum. The other sites could and will take the hit as they are going in with their eyes open but OER should be spared the grief. Consider removing it.

Thanks Ruanaidh, you are correct :thumbsup
For obvious reasons I've edited Wayne's post

there is no such article online. notice the article does not even have a date attached. FWIW the supposed author does work for the aussie.
Larry pickering on his website also makes unsubstantiated claims about this blokes history, detailing an assult case and comments from a magistrate supposedly reported in the geelong advertiser. Again no such article can be found online, nor are there any dates given so you can check the authenticity of him even appearing in the geelong magistrates court.
I cant see any problem with his priors being put into a public forum though, as long as they can be substantiated.

Holy crap. Just look up where she was found since a mate has property in the area. That area is in fact called Toolern Vale... And I drive past the location every time I head up there for drinks/band practice/winter bonfires etc etc. It's only a few properties away.
It's only about 35mins up the Calder once you peel off from the Tulla. Just a mere 10-15 after the race way. Depending which way you go as Black Hill rd has two entries but both make it look pretty remote and no chance of a jogger or some unlucky chump strolling past with their dog discovering a body.

Check this out Al: http://www.thenewsmanual.net/Resources/medialaw_in_australia_03.html. Under the second heading. Also, in the eyes of the Law this site is considered a 'Publication'. We shouldn't do anything that would give this snake an opportunity for a mistrial.

Because it can be seen to predjudicial to someone getting a fair trial
From a Vic Govt website
What is sub judice contempt?
Sub judice contempt is the common law offence of publishing material which has a tendency to interfere with the administration of justice while proceedings are sub judice; that is, ‘under a judge’. The rationale for the offence is to avoid a ‘trial by media’ by prohibiting the publication of material which might prejudge issues at stake in particular proceedings, or which might influence or place pressure on persons involved in the proceedings, including jurors, witnesses or potential witnesses, and parties to the proceedings. In deciding whether material is prejudicial, the court will attempt to balance the public interest in free speech with the public interest in ensuring a fair trial.
See:

Not saying its right, not saying I agree but it is the law.

Last night my son called me to say that his wife (24yrs) attended a meeting (and drink) at a venue in Sydney Rd, last Friday night. She walked in the same vicinity that Jill did back to her car around 12am. I am still shaking at the thought.
I have been motivated to get involved in a movement to tighten surveillance, control and if needed capital punishment of registered Sex-Offenders. Having worked in the welfare sector dealing with this criminal sub-set I am convinced that rehabilitation does not work. They lesson or increase their activities on one basis only: opportunity.
A great book on this topic is Robert Hare's: Without Conscience: The Disturbing World of the Psychopaths Among Us. He also was the inventor of the: Psychopath test.

well there you go.

It's just another way the 'Law' limits free speech. But then again if I was innocently accused of a heinous crime I didn't commit I would no doubt appreciate this protection. :-\

Kudos to Alistair Clarkson who referred to the tragic Jill Meagher case in his Press Conference.
