Title: Lucas Cook
Post by: TigerLand on October 11, 2012, 10:53:09 PM
KPP - 20 years old, was pick 12 two seasons ago.

Delisted by Melbourne. Wouldn't trust Dees judgement as something stinks down there.

Will get picked up in the draft somewhere 100% at worst a rookie.

Would be a nice gamble for our forward line.

Get stuffed. Enough of recruiting pathetic Melbourne duds. A 2 year player, first round pick and he gets delisted already. He can FO and so can anyone who wants him at Richmond.

He must be absolutely terrible if he can't get a game and is delisted from the Demons after 2 years.

So can he now be picked up as an Unrestricted Free Agent in the period finishing October 19 or does he have to wait till the Delisted Player Free Agency period on November 1?

Melbourne junk. No no no.

Kid will player in the Amateurs for Old Grammarians or some other Private School and work as a Business Analyst at Price Waterhouse Coopers. No club should draft this kid and stop him from reaching his full potential as a Grade A Corporate Tossbag.

He'll be running Melbourne Footy Club in 10 years lol. :lol :rollin :lol

May as well post this here, since Cook is delisted and thus will be in the Free Agency group.
Note that all the delisted players are free agents and have their own trade period.

There is a bit of talk about Geelong delisting some of their rookies or at least them being available for other clubs senior lists.

"The Cats, also linked to Melbourne free agent Jared Rivers, are facing some difficult decisions regarding the remaining rookies, with Josh Walker, George Burbury, Cameron Eardley, Jackson Sheringham and Jonathan Simpkin all having completed their second year.

Second-year rookies not offered a spot on the senior list become unrestricted agents able to walk to the club of their choice, with Burbury attracting attention from teams."

After looking at the VFL Grand Final there are a couple of likely players IMO.

Josh Walker  196cm  89kg  20yo  KPF   shows some good skills but is very inconsistent.
George Burbury  186cm  77kg  20yo  HFF/wing  very smart player but small.
Cam Eardley   180cm  80kg  19yo  small defender/mid who I would call a mini Morris tough and breaks lines.

If you're looking at Cook I would look at Walker.

Burbury I'd look at. Walker can't kick but yes would take well ahead of Cook.

Burbury goes well. Did well to get drafted in the first place considering he told the Mariners to FO ;D

Didn't we recruit chocco to work with all this young talent.  Given a decent environment this kid could flourish
