Title: Rate a Tiger's year - 26. Robin Nahas?

Next up in Nahas ....

In terms of disposals, Robbie's best was 21 possessions versus Melbourne in round 3 in which he also kicked 2 goals.

Really mixed bag from Robbie. Very patchy.
Well down on possessions, probably due to spending less time in the midfield but unlike many of his more glamorous team mates, he converted his opportunities well.

Needs to perform against the good sides.

Need to upgrade on this type of player

Too many cameos IMHO

By that I mean he wouldn't be sighted for half a game and then he'd make cameo in the 3rd or final qtr. kick a few goals and then his ineffectiveness would be ignored. Alternatively he'd star in the first qtr and then disappear for the remainder. Certainly went missing against top sides too often

Needs more consistency

Name a forward pocket who doesn't fit this

Solid year. Was noticeably bigger this year. Should get a bit bigger again. Will be better with Vickery back and support from either griffiths, mcguane or post. We'll have a potent forward line with the addition of knights. Hopefully king stops getting suspended

What are McGuane and Post going to do to help Nahas out?

here here agree with all that.
hes like this because of his size even for a small have never seen a player so poor over the ball fall over so much and lack any sort of physical presence.
is probably the most one sided player in the comp and his good side for a small is average. if he didnt kick a few goals every now and then he would be a total liability.
the fact he kicked 34 goals which is a decent return in one area had me give him a 5.
we have it totally wrong in playing all three of nahas king and edwards in the one team. none have shown themselves to be a decent mid rotation, all lack polish and class as far as smalls go.
as such we can only afford to play one of them.
theres no balance to our forward line its either very small or very tall.with both sets being one dimensional.
we lose games we shouldnt because we lack polish and class and we have too many runts. we finished 12th the reason for this is because of the likes of nahas. if we want to become a good finals side we must find better players than nahas.

Needs a Mark Blake type who can spill marks in the f50 and then rove to.
Reality is, supporters never have much time for the annoying small forward in the afl.
It is also rare to see any annoying small forward dominate good sides.

Didn't watch the last 9 games of the season? Clash with Port games?

Was that not because Vickery and Grimes were injured? They're not in the best 22. Unless they have massive pre-seasons then you'd think both will start at Coburg. Grimes, Chappy & Rance are locks as our 3 tall defenders. Jack is a cert and last season they played Vickery over Post and McG despite Vicks not getting a kick for most of the season. If we go with 3 talls up forward then it is most likely going to be Astbury who gets first crack.

So you think Vickery Reiwoldt and Astbury will all go the whole season without injury and missing a game?

If JR gets injured there is no excuse, should still kick a 100 and make the Coleman worthwhile

What has that got to do with whether Post/McGuane will be an asset for Nahas? How can you be an asset to someone when you rarely play in the same team? Vickery & Riewoldt both played 22 games each in 2011. This is not a discussion about "what if so and so get injured".

FMD some of you blokes.....:cheers

Reckon post will be better than astbury. Astbury gets outmuscled very easily even at 93kg. Not the best in the air either

But they didn't in 2012 or 2010. Nahas problem is consistency. Someone gets injured, Post/McGuane take their place and if they play well then Nahas doesn't suffer therefore hopefully keeps his consistency up

if you think he has a left side you will never ever see fault with our players.  his left side is almost non existent and it has cost us big time on too many occasions. imo his right foot lacks penetrsation and is barley passable.
if you cant be objective and honest about our players whats the point in even discussing them.

Jack plays every game, never gets injured. Vickery didn't play every game in 2010 because he was a pup, still played 14 games though. I think we can all agree Post & McGuane won't be playing much part in our push for finals. Not sure they were ever going to somehow lift Nahas' game either :lol

Good post. Nahas has close the worst left foot in the comp. Inexcusable for an AFL player to be so poor on one side of the body like that
