Trent Cotchin has divided his loyalty...

The winner, so far, in all of this has been management firm Elite Sports Properties, which ... will share Cotchin's duties with his long-time manager, Anthony McConville, of Mac's Sports.

McConville will maintain his hold on Cotchin's playing contract but ESP will oversee the marketing side of his deal and opportunities outside the game.

Cotchin, who will almost certainly be named as the Tigers' new captain, is heading into his sixth campaign and has opened contract renegotiations.

He would be a free agent after the 2015 season should he sign a two-year deal. However, McConville earlier this year inked Brett Deledio to a five-year deal and the Tigers may be willing to also secure Cotchin, 22, long term.

How long is his current contract for? To the end of 2013?

Couldn't possibly start the season without him signed up to the end of 2015 at least.

Contracted for 2013

No need to jump at shadows like people did last year with Lids.

No drama here, will get done, no stress required  ;D

Not a Free Agent, and a required player with an existing front-loaded contract.

Upgrade to captaincy with marketing & performance bonuses. Tick

Gotta Love the hair, its dark, mysterious, handsome, lustrous and superb.

Don't agree, the way this free agency is going we don't need the vultures circling and derailing our season with poaching talk. I have no doubt he will sign and sign for 5 years. But better to get the deal done ASAP for mine....

Get it done Tiges.

Firstly, when out of contract he wont be a free agent, so that doesn't come into play.

Agree it will get done.

But what does that it matter if it's done this week, next month or in 6 months? It gets doen when it gets done

And it wont derail our season because Cotch is too good of a player to let it effect his performance and our captain in 2013 wouldn't allow it to have any influence on the team  :thumbsup

Ok, free agency won't come into pay but trade could, not that it will I agree he will stay. I know you don't agree but I still believe that Cloke and Ablett dragging out their decision affected their teams finals campaigns. It's not just about the player.

I just like to see things squared away that's all, shows we are heading in the right direction. It's great to see players wanting to stay at the club now and wanting to come to Richmond. Cotch will be a big part of this club.....for ever!
