Anderson quits AFL

Adrian Anderson has resigned from one of the top jobs at the AFL after nine years.

In the third executive departure from Andrew Demetriou's team since the end of the season, Anderson's decision to quit follows Demetriou's strong support of his second in command Gillon McLachlan as the league's next chief-executive-in waiting.

Fairfax Media understands that Anderson, 40, the AFL's football operations boss, has been planning his departure for some months also in the knowledge that Demetriou was looking at restructuring his position in a move which would have diminished Anderson's influence within the organisation.

New CEO of North.I guess the AFL couldn,t force the Roos to move or merge officially.So i guess they will do it by stealth now. :shh

The BIG question is, what does it mean for us if Benny Gale is offered the job and takes it? Will we unravel? All the stability and progress, who will be able to keep it together?

Hopefully now that Anderson is gone, the rules will now be left alone and the game allowed to evolve naturally rather than the rules being changed on a whim every 5 minutes by Anderson ::).
