Alright OERites, who are the six SENIOR listed players at the club leading in to the 2013 season that need significant years to survive on the list going forward and why?
#1 being the first out the door, #6 being the closest to safety. Who is going to drop off the bottom?
6. Daniel Jackson – Younger, more talented midfielders pressing for his spot. Last year of his contract.
5. Jake King – Injuries taking their toll. Classier forwards have been brought onto the list. Last year of contract.
4. Aaron Edwards – One year contract. Mature recruit. Will need to make every post a winner, if he gets an opportunity
-----------------------
3. Tom Derickx – Should be nearing maturity. Has done sweet FA since joining, has had injury concerns.
2. Luke McGuane – 9th season. Not best 22. A move to the forward line saved his ass, but that forward line has been added to over the off-season. On a 1 year contract.
1. Matt White – This is his 8th season. Still not best 22. On a 1 year contract. A raft of players coming through that can play his position
Who is in your drop zone? And is this "Bottom Six" indicative of a side with enough depth to play finals?

Agree with most of those.
Martin would want to stay out of trouble this year or he could be headed elsewhere.
-
i'm going to have to hide the stash a little better
-
Trade Jackson for Dennis Armfield
-
Arnot would want to show something too.

Yep, and Dea.
There is comp to get a game and comp to stay on the list.

Deaa. Born 91. Basketball background.
Arnot. 93.
Both deserve more preseasons.

Look I agree, but they wouldn't want to show nothing this year with the amount of competition for spots, could find themselves in the Drop Zone with Snipes

Dea's shown something. Arnot hasn't yet. We'll see, but I don't rate Arnot.

Nah, but Haselby did.

I would rather watch an extended preview of a NAB cup game between Port Adelaide and GCS, hosted by Hamish McLaughlin and Bazil Zempalis, with Kelli Underwood as special guest, than ever read this thread again.

Getting back to the topic ...
Hard to see the first 3 surviving past this year.
1. White
2. McGuane
3. Derickx
The next lot will come from out of contract senior players who could/will probably be on the fringe - Kingy, Nahas, Jacko and Aaron Edwards - and out of contract small/midsized cubs who will need to play some senior AFL footy and show significant improvement and development over the course of the season - Helbig, Arnot, O'Hanlon and Dea.
