Open Fire - Tigers pair a match made in heaven

IF Richmond shows the same competitive spirit that these two leading Tigers did at mini tennis on Wednesday night, then fans can expect big things from Punt Rd this season.

The doubles pairing of Jumping Jack Riewoldt and retiring captain Chris Newman even competed against each other for the ball.

It didn't matter that they were only playing two young kids, Riewoldt and Newman did everything they could to try to blast them off the court.

The primary schoolboys didn't take a backward step and gave as good as they got, according to witnesses.

Riewoldt, who is a tennis fan and also attended the Players Party earlier in the week, then joined Newman to watch action on the centre court.
