Fair opposition analysis IMO. Not really any different from how we talk about them. The second poster makes a good point though. I think a lot of the older Victorian supporters feel the same way about a Tiger resurgence. There is an entire generation of us <30 year old Tiger supporters who have known nothing but heartache and pessimism, just chomping at the bit to give it back in barrow loads.

I liked this gem

- Jack Riewoldt cannot kick goals agianst good defenders. the only top 8 side he gets hold of is Hawthorn and that's with Shoenmakers, who Eddie Betts, Brent Harvey or Leroy Jetta would out-body in a marking contest. Riewoldt is pathetic against good defenders - a bit like his cousin actually

At least owning up to the fact their team/defenders are stuffing atrocious. ;D

Lids, Cotch, Jack, Dusty, Foley, Ivan

Watson and Goddard.

Their whole list is battlers.

There is some fair comments in there however there is also some real stupidity in there to.

Including this wanker...

"Every year we hear about the Tigers and what they are going to do and how this year is different to the past yada yada yada....

2 things stand out for mine:

- Jack Riewoldt cannot kick goals agianst good defenders. the only top 8 side he gets hold of is Hawthorn and that's with Shoenmakers, who Eddie Betts, Brent Harvey or Leroy Jetta would out-body in a marking contest. Riewoldt is pathetic against good defenders - a bit like his cousin actually

- Their lack of grunt or "tough men"....If Jake King is your enforcer, then seriously u have issue

Richmond are an ordinary team. They go missing for 3/4 of a game then show nothing but abit of chest beating, huff'n puff late in the game. When the game is there to be won late in a game, they're nowhere to be seen. Suddenly everyones plauding Richmond for their gallant efforts.

They'll do nothing other than get people excited. Yet lose most games.

Outrageous. Hurley is better than any tall we have bar Jack. Vickery & Rance are decent at best at this stage, Foley is a good player who is often injured and Maric has had one good season out of 8. Martin was below his best last season.

Hurley hasn't done anything? Bloody oath, you know a very small amount about football. The bloke has held down CHB & CHF ever since he got drafted. That's pretty impressive. If not for injuries he would have a huge fitness base and would have done even more in his career to date. Vickery did not kick 37 goals in 2011. Vickery's PB is 4, Hurley's is 6. Vickery has kicked 4 twice, Hurley has reached 4 or more on 9 occasions. One of these guys has spent a lot of time at CHB and it's not Vickery. Vickery kicked 7 goals from 9 games in 2012. Oh, but he had a sore shoulder....Vickery a star? Awww gee give us a spell

By who? Most who watch him regularly find him to be a quality KPP. No one says the guy is the next Carey but to say Vickery is better than him is laughable. Hurley beats him in every area apart from ruckwork...and obviously he's not a ruckman.

He's a good player and I'm a big fan, not the star that you claim. Big Vick is ahead of him, not that they should be compared – ones a swingman and ones a forward that can play in the guts.  ;)

Vickery is quicker, more athletic, is better in traffic and better below his knees. Hurley just shades him on marking and kicking. Just.

Don't be upset you called Hurley a star, he'll get there, no need to overrate him Tay Tay  :-*

Big Vick was one of the sofest big men in the league last year. He played one decent game of football, the rest were a disgrace. But now that he's been out of the side he has become a star.  Quicker and more athletic than Hurley? You're having a laugh :lol Better below his knees? I dunno, maybe. But then again Hurley clunks most things that go near him so he doesn't have to worry about the footy hitting the deck ;D Justin Westhoff is better in traffic than most big men. ;D

:cuddles

I may have been harsh on young Ty. I actually like what he offers as a forward. He'd kick more goals if blokes lowered their eyes instead of blazing because they hear Riewoldt screaming in the pocket. Offers a nice lead does Ty. Give him good delivery and not many defenders will be able to get a fist in when he's got the dukes out

Realistic Essendon supporter here. I think both teams are a fair way off challenging. Not enough consistency and too many young/inexperienced guys in the best 22.
How many good players do you have that are ready to go in 2013? Players that don't have question marks/injury concerns?

For the bombers it would be Watson, Goddard, Fletcher, Ryder, Crameri, Hurley, Heppell, Howlett, Stanton, Dempsey, Carlisle, Bellchambers, Zaharakis.

For Richmond I'd have Cotchin, Deledio, Reiwoldt, Maric, Martin, Grigg, Conca, Houli, Ellis, Tuck, Rance, Chaplin, Morris, Nahas, Newman and Shane Edwards.

Both lists are fairly even IMO but Reiwoldt puts it in Richmonds favour. None of our forwards are close to him at the moment.
Of course there are plenty of other talented players on both lists but a lot of them have question marks due to lack of games or injuries. Players like Daniher, Kavanagh, Pears, Myers, Hibberd or for the Tigers guys like Foley, Grimes, Vickery, Griffiths, Vlaustin etc. If you can get those guys playing good footy consistently you will be hard to beat.

Both teams have weakish depth so injuries are going to be a factor.
Good luck but I hope you finish 9th.

I would agree that both teams my be a fair way off challenging but where I see richmond's reasons due to lack of experience and depth to cover injuries, I see Essendons as a case of too many battlers on field. What I liked about the bombers last year was that after your top 5-6 players the rest of your list is pretty even and they were able to produce consistently as opposed to our bottom 6 last year that when push came to shove under injury duress were more than awful.

It showed in the first half of the season ith a fitter list you were able to win more games become the bottom tier and even mid tier players in your team put in more than what we did. It could also come down to the draws we both played but that's a different discussion.

I don't know too much about essendon tbh but I think players like pears and hibberd fit are a good addition to your squad.

As for this year I would expect our younger players to provide more while the flogs we have to be kept out of the team with the depth we aquired thru recruiting and availability and not sidelined for most of the year ala: Astbury, Arnott, Helbig etc

Don't worry won't finish 9th, with essendon out and a bye round this year I'm sure we'll move up a spot into 8th this year.  :lol
Just not sure what were going to do for the dreamtime game without an opponent??

Maybe Jobe and the boys can get a job at that said chicken shop in northcote that Makrov goes to and cook up a storm over the fryers.

"Battered sav my dear?"
"Oh yes, its quite big isn't it?"
"Yes, because I run a direct line straight into the vein, as directed by the kitchen doctor"

Wahahahaha fu kin bombers!!
"Watch the bombers shoot up, up"
" Watch their muscles explode, plode"

Maybe we have been consulting with Ben Cousins. Turns out he had a close relationship with Mr Charter aka Dr Ageless well before he was associated with the bombers.  :thumbsup

Was Charter associated with Cousins before or after he was working with Hirdy?

Tough crowd  ;D It's not like I said they were A Graders. You would of thought after I listed honest plodders like Conca, Morris, Houli, Nahas and Chaplin that you wouldn't be laughing at the likes of Howlett. He is a better player than any of those hacks.

Essendon to recruit Lance Armstrong as an international rookie.

perhaps your coach could answer a few questions RE: relationship with Mr Ageless..haha :shh

I think someone forgot to warn players about some of the more obvious side effects. Danky probably did outline some of the benefits though but failed to go into detail as to how it would happen.

Essendon 2013 (on the edge) Sports science player dossier

Enhancement observations
-------------------------------------
Increase in Height (4 inch heels)
Increase in body mass (mainly in the chest area)
Increase in popularity with other players.....
His new body shape would also open him up to a broader range of fashion options
Reduction in living expenses (never pay for drinks and get off speeding tickets)
