Title: Crawf tips Richmond to finish 8th / Rohan Connolly says 9th
Post by: one-eyed on March 17, 2013, 03:57:18 AM
8. RICHMOND

BOTTOM LINE: Surely, the Tigers can't miss out again. The planets have seemingly aligned this time. It possesses one of the strongest midfields in the AFL, a better backline with Troy Chaplin's inclusion and a dual Coleman Medal winner in attack. As a one-time Tiger fan, surely it is time for another finals appearance.

WORRY: Coach Damien Hardwick knows the team needs to rely less on Jack Riewoldt and to develop more options in attack.

ONE TO WATCH: Dustin Martin has had a big pre-season on the track and hopefully will be putting behind him what was - on his ability - a modest 2012 season.

UNDER THE PUMP: Same as above. Martin was the subject of off-field scrutiny during the pre-season. The pressure will be on him to perform on and off the field.

PASS MARK: Finals and finals only. The fans will be demanding it.

I think the Hawks are going to be big sliders.

Hawthorn will side so will Sydney.
I will go as far and say Hawthorn will finsish 7-10.
Sydney will finish 5th or 6th.

I can't understand the love for Carlton or Mick Malthouse.
I think Adelaide may slide too.

I expect the WA teams to make Perth a real fortress again and both to finish top four along with Collingwood.

Rohan Connolly has about as much character as work carpet. Old, flat, lumpy, stretchy, worn out, torn and battered.

Had Rohan on radio with us last Sunday.  We discussed the following:

- Round up of the NAB Cup and what it means for the finallists
- Every AFL team reviewed
- We discuss the new rules implemented for the season ahead
- Our season predictions including Premiers, Brownlow Medallist and Coleman Medallist

It was a very long show, but the Richmond part is at:

Was one of the more optimistic about us last year too. I hope we've gone up a gear and our draw actually is soft.

IIRC David King tipped us to finish 6th last year.

Very positive about us despite us giving him the arse years ago. Someone else could take a leaf out of his book.  :shh

Yeah he did after the Hawks game I believe

After he made that "prediction" things went "pear shaped"  ;D

I don't like Kingy, but he got laughed at when he said the Tigers 5th, but at least he's making a big call. Nearly every other 8 i've seen are almost identical to last year.

Maclure had a laugh about it saying we're not good enough, but he had Carlton in his 8 (heart over head) and then reeled off about 6 reasons why the loss against the Lions would be worrying for the Blues. He said they have some softies in the side.

Neil Cordy gives us his ladder prediction....

Swans
Fremantle
Collingwood
Hawthorn
West Coast
Adelaide
Carlton
Brisbane  :lol
Geelong
Essendon
Port
North Melbourne

Richmond
Cordy’s verdict: Trent Cotchin is now in the top half dozen players in the competition and has plenty of talent around him in Brett Deledio, Jack Riewoldt, Ivan Maric and the enigmatic Dustin Martin. The problem lies with their bottom six players.

St Kilda
Melbourne
Giants
Bulldogs
Suns
