Reminds me of that old Virus single that they used to give away at the club; " Richmond is the team to beat, TOP of the ladder is where we meet". Aaah, the sweet and rarified air....

Ummm Mike, it's only round 2 and we haven't had a chance to play a top 8 side although many in the media had Carlton making the finals this year.

Important percentage booster too. Up to 135%.

If Adelaide wins the local derby (up by 15 at HT) then we'll be 3rd; if Port wins we'll be 4th.

They're already starting favourites, $1.67 to $2.10. A team from basket case, most tipped bottom 4, starting favourites against a popularly backed, sure thing top 8 finisher. Real rags to riches. Makes me sick.

We'll only end up ninth if the Pies win narrowly (less than two goals). Freo is currently +56 (538/482) on aggregate compared to our +51 (700/649). It's only because they have played one less game and so have smaller for and against numbers that has then currenly 4% ahead.

An ugly win but importantly we're still 7th and up to 112%.

We played Melbourne in a bad week. Melbourne were never going to give us space or an opportunity to score heavily today. They played man on man across the ground and were very defensive minded. They were very good really. We played well and created goals better than we probably should have in reality. Other teams have got Melbourne when they were playing less accountable and attacking football - we played a very defensive minded, accountable and determined team today and still won by 30+ points. We are improving no doubt.  :thumbsup

I agree with this and think Melbourne will win some games against other clubs which will help us in our quest to make the eight. They will cause a few upsets.
