TWO of Melbourne's most talented players, Jack Watts and Colin Sylvia, face uncertain futures, with rival clubs already beginning to circle the out-of-contract Demons.
The Herald Sun understands as many as eight clubs have inquired about Sylvia's status.
An AFL list manager estimated Watts' value at $250,000-$325,000 a year and Sylvia at $325,000-$425,000.
Watts was genuinely discussed as a potential trade target by North Melbourne last year.
Watts was also linked to Greater Western Sydney. Carlton has denied it was interested despite reports.

Surely that's a typo $250-325k for Watts, surely it is $250.00-325.00 per VFL game and he donatesit back when he plays AFL ;D

I true, Watts would be a bargain at that price, despite the criticism he's received. He just hasn't developed at Melbourne.

Steer clear I reckon. Very very Richie-esque in his career so far - potential out the kazoo, trains the house down, goes missing and drops confidence at the first hint of pressure. Some players just don't have it, regardless of what draft pick they went.
-
Agree smokey. I can't see us with our good character and competitive footballer criteria going anywhere near either of them.
I feel sorry for Watts. Melbourne has totally wrecked him as a footballer, played him away from his natural position as a lead-up forward and wasted his development years. Now he's a shell of the talented junior who dominated the U18 Champs.
-
The Dees development is deplorable but Watts would only have turned out a decent footballer at best no matter where he was drafted because he is a stuffing fairy.
You feel sorry for him? Puh-lease ::)

X 2 a hairy fairy at that

Jackie Watts has been dropped this week
;D
-
Would take anyone of these two players!
-
Watts > mcgaune

You know what I actually do feel sorry for him
You can't tell me all those 1st rounders are all duds just like all ours were
Facts are MFC are doing exactly what we did to our players before Dimma. No development and no resources
Watts has talent but one more year and is going to be another Tambling

He already is Daniel, whether it's his own fault or not.

I would say there is one massive difference between the two
And that is despite everything Tambling put everything he had into trying to be the best he could be for us, he had the drive/hunger to want to succeed. Granted things didn't work out
But sadly from where i sit I cannot say the same about Jack Watts, he shows no intesity on field or the training track for that matter. He reminds me of Post with more talent, just doesn't have the mongrel or hunger
-
We should rookie Tambling, better than Lonergan
-
Watts couldn't even impact in their win against the GWS juggernaut. But like they say, big guys take a while and they might be giving Watts until he's 30 :shh

Big girls take the longest

Both are average but Tambling gets on the field therefore Lonergan>>>>>Tambling as it doesn't affect Coburg's peformance. :shh ;D

I'd really love to see Watts under another coach and club. A good coach could really get something out of him I reckon. Dimma or Lethal or bomber Thompson. He also needs a new environment badly, just a change of scene. IMHO he is a mobile tall that can mark, he should play a roving wing, half back, half forward role. It would be very hard for teams to mark him.

Poor man's Jarrad Waite

Poor man's Jarrad Waite
I would've thought poor mans Jayden Post.

leave poor Jay Jay out of this, he just needs an extended run at it to prove the doubters wrong
