The cupboard seems bare after both games yesterday but anyway fire away?
-
Nahas for Arnot
Jackson for for Dan Minogue wheel him out for all I care. How about McDonough.
Play the kids.
White for Eric Zscesch
-
It's the same boobs dimma has blind faith in. They try their guts out but unfortunately don't cut it. I'm sick of the bulldust they roll out.......he is good for structures, he s good team payer, he follows team rules.......bull poo. Dimma is coaching for himself and his tenure.....Mcguanne will not take us to finals. Jackson will not win us finals, Nahas will not stand up in finals, lonnergan was disgarded by a potential finals team. Rance will not stand up to finals pressure. It is reality people's. the guys I am pointing he finger a have been in the system for several years. Good teams would not tolerate this......plain and simple.......I don't care whether guys in the 2 's deserve a game or not but some of these kids must be given a chance to excel on the big stage.
-
TBH for the first time in my life I don't give a stuff. Pretty sad really.
-
In:
Griffiths, Arnot, McBean, Edwards, Stephenson, Astbury
Out:
McGuane, Lonergan, Grigg, Batchelor, Maric, Jackson
Play Vickery in the ruck. Rest Maric who has lost it!
Play McBean at FF, Griffiths at FP, Astbury at CHB!
Nahas sub or if Ellis is OK, then Ellis IN for Nahas.
-
Torch why griff in?
-
Who cares, we are a pathetic bunch of no confidence, weak, useless losers. The club is cancerous, why should we bother, enough is enough!
-
For those who suggest we don't need Tuck in our side don't know a lot about football
Arnot needs a chance for Nahas
Maguane out - Griff, Astbury or McBean in
-
If Nanas plays again for this jumper I will never ever attend another game if he's selected in.
It's a stuffing disgrace he was selected.
Should of traded him out a couple of years back when we all knew he it was the perfect time.
We missed the boat again and we continue to play this poor excuse and an embarrassment every time I just think of his name.
It a joke! An embarrassing joke! People are laughing at us joke!
Why is he getting a game????
Hardwick and the match committee are completely wrong in this. There's is absolutely no reason he should of even played last night let alone still on our list.
-
Having watched a little bit of Coburg the only 2 players who I rate as being a chance at becoming long term decent players are McBean and McDonough. The others are just ok.

Anyone at coburg is better than Nanas.

Agree but would drop white as well and maybe too early to bring in McBean. McBean is a really good player. Want to protect his development
-
Play Mcnean instead of Nahas
-
Take a look at the sort of football Coburg play its the same high turnover farting around type of football. It doesn't matter who you bring in ,if the game style is the same then the result will be too.You might as well bring in Martha and the vandellas for the difference it will make
-
Play McBean
Nothing to lose, plenty to gain
At least the kid would have a dip
Vickery wants to blame team mates all night
-

Hardwick is too scared to do that! Agree with you though, Arnott, McBean, Griff, play them all, what have we got to lose, Griff at FF for six weeks...must give him a go!
-
jack does it matter who you bring in ,if all we are going to get is that crap style of football we are currently witnessing?
-
Out - Nahas, Lonergan, White, McGuane & Vickery
In - Any of Dea, Helbig, Edwards, Arnot, Griffiths & would love to see Darrou play on Darling this week, has had a great year so far.
Newman needs to lift big time!!
McBean & McDonough look fantastic prospects for the future but i would hold them back a little longer.
-
If we are not making finals which we aren't play the kids.
McDonough, McBean, Arnot play them. Helbig for a block of 6 games.
Griffiths at CHF Astbury at CHB
Dimma on his appointment said if I am not the man to take us to RFC 11th premiership then my initiatives will have paved the way for this to happen.
Play the kids and let them develop.
No more Nahas, Jackson, White, Vickery needs the ressies and now.
You want to coach for yourself or the club Dimma?
No short cuts.
Shows our depth is still garbage just look at Coburg. With injuries we are exposed early in the year with clubs up and about rather than mid to late last year when clubs were in transition.
We still lost the unloveable last year as we will this year.
Anyway Dimma play the kids it makes losing more bearable. I have excuses then. :help
-

Tend to agree.
McBean, and McDonough should play some AFL this year,
Think Arnot is worth a game, certainly had some great patches.
Dea also looks more teh comfortable at VFL level compared to a few years ago where he looked at sea and his draft selection was questioned. He is improving on the up. Would like to see Griffiths and Astbury tried up forward. We have 3 good AFL standard defenders in Chaplin, Rance and Grimes with Batch going to be a decent medium/tall defender in time. We need to develop another key forward.
-
Daniel Jackson
Shaun Grigg
Bachar Houli
Troy Chaplin
Robin Nahas
Sam Lonergan
Luke McGuane
Matthew White
Jake King
^ Outs.
-
What's the point even playing this game, it only leads to massive frustration
Nahas has to go, but what's the point? So they drop him but instead of bringing in a kid who deserves a chance (eg Arnott) they'll bring in someone who doesn't deserve it. Just like they did with Lonergan this week.
Why the continue to play Maric when he is clearly struggling with that bloody groin problem beggars belief
Shaun Grigg had what 30 or was it 40 meaningless, pointless, nothing possessions but will continue to be selected.
I can type away and say
OUTS: Grigg, Nahas, Lonergan, McGuane
INS: Ellis, Arnot, A Edwards, Helbig
But what's the point it won't happen, our match committee haven got the guts to drop certain blokes

I think the Big O needs to come in!!! Ivan looks half the player he was last year at this stage of the season, is he fit?????

Have said it many times he is carrying a groin problem,
why the continue to play him, thereby allowing people to whack him week after week because he is struggling to run, kick and jump is well bloody stupid!

His bleedin groin shouldn't prevent him from plucking marks wp ::)

I'm just going for one out this week and I'm putting extra praying power behind it: Nahas
And I don't care who they bring in

I remember this; he intimated that he would set us up for sustained success because he had the blueprint for it.
I dunno if I believe him anymore.
-
Write the game off, play the kids and rest Cotch, Lids and Maric.
:thumbsup
-
Looking at what could come in it doesn't look good atm. Ellis will be out again so no midfield respite either. I'm desperate to get rid of Nahas, Lonegan, White, Jackson and even Foley for that matter atm but we haven't any ready made replacements. Arnot should be a given for Lonegan but I think he will be given another game. I pray that Helbig shows something for Coburg in the next couple of weeks because we need midfield options.
At the start of the year I thought we had an embarrassment of riches when it came to our midfield depth - now we look like we haven't enough. Bring on the bye.
-
Cupboard seems bare atm doesn't it.
Play the kids and stuff the result we may unearth a gem or gems long term. :thumbsup

Oh yeah. You're right. Danger to lose by 10 goals plus.
How about we ditch the pea heart footy and surprise us let alone the opposition.
-
Been thinking we need to inject some pace into the side
-
You need it at Subiaco WP.
That's why you retain White unfortunately but you have to add Arnot also.

Quick at turning the ball over.
Quick at getting tackled.
Quick at getting in the way.
He's perfect for Subiaco. ;D

Nahas losing his feet is a complete joke.
Last night was a perfect night for footy. No dew. Nahas made it look like an ice skating rink at times!
He must be dropped. Never to return.

Players slipping is one of my pet hates.
There are the usual suspects which include Nahas and most of our back line (especially Rance).
Why doesn't the club look at this? Surely they realize if you fall you are automatically out of the contest!

Tuck, Ellis, Conca and Knights are injured and Cotch, Lids and Maric are hampered by injury.
Take the same quality from Essendon and it may have been a different result.

Steve Morris goes to ground (by choice alot of the time BTW) a fair bit as well when he needs to keep his feet

Dare i say it ...
I really don't care what they do
While they continue to play blokes who are happy to be coasting along getting gifted games why should I bother giving a damn
-
Cupboard seems bare atm doesn't it.

I agree with playing the kids but sadly theres not much left to bring up from Coburg. McBean should get a game, McDonough doesnt have the tank so maybe give him a game as a Sub and play him forward in the last quarter. Elton seems to not have progressed, Arnot is hard at it but cant kick yet. Not much left to bring in. Thats why last years recruiting of recycleds was wrong. Should have just given the spots on the list to some new kids.
-
Talk about shuffling deck chairs on titanic but this is what I want to see...
A.Edwards for Mcguane
Arnot for Nahas
Griffiths for Batch

Yes, unfortunately it's getting that way isn't it! We need a real shake up IMO.

As I said in an email this morning to some mates who weren't at the game:
"If the club is fair dinkum about things then they have to start dropping the coach’s favourites. Too many of them are coasting (if you want me to name them I will!) because they know they wont be dropped. I’d rather play kids who’ll bust their guts for you and lose than to get beaten like we did on Saturday night."

It was only NAB cup but I think this was the difference. We had some young blokes busting their nuts against Essendon to try and get a game.
-
Hardwick, Nahas and Jackson. Give us a real chance of winning. If we don't get rid of those, can add to that Maric, Foley, Lonergan (why?), Batchelor, Vickery, Edwards, White, McGuane, Riewoldt, Morris, King, Houli, Grigg, Rance and Chaplin because none of them are capable of his game plan.
Ins: I would like to see Elton, Edwards and Arnot.
Put Dea and Griffiths in the Reserves of the Reserves so we never have to see them again. Horribly bad players even at reserve level.
-
Dea has been in the best almost every game for Coburg in recent times. :whistle
-
Let's be realistic here . . .
Ins: Unchanged
Outs: Unchanged
:outtahere

Sadly that is the likely scenario, hence why right at the moment I don't care anymore
-
Dea was crap on the weekend. You have to put someone in the best which is why someone who turns it over regularly in front of goal and can't physically compete at reserve level will see his name in print. The only thing you can take from that is how bad the rest of the losers at Coburg were and they were REALLY BAD.

Name them. I'd be saying Grigg would be top of that list. But then guys like Jacko, Lonergan, Nahas, White, McGuane need to GTFO. Jacko probably the last to be phased out.
-
How bad was the Ellis hamstring? Surely Nanas comes out of the side . . . offered absolutely nothing all game, unless your Essendon of course.
-
Name them. I'd be saying Grigg would be top of that list. But then guys like Jacko, Lonergan, Nahas, White, McGuane need to GTFO. Jacko probably the last to be phased out.
In my email to my mates I was referring to coasters only, not those who try hard but kill us with their poor decision making and skill errors. Outside of Grigg the others you list aren't coasters they are "try hards" but ....
The Coasters who played on Saturday night are:
(By Coasters I am talking about the blokes who seem to coasting along because they have no fear of being dropped)
Grigg
Vickery
Houli (maybe he's a floater as opposed to coaster because he floats in and he floats out of games ;D)
Newman ( fast becoming a coaster too, lacks instensity at times that makes my blood boil, perhaps it's age catching up)
Lonergan (reckon he will be a coaster, can't see them dropping him)
Then you have the other extreme of blokes come in play well compared to the coasters and get dropped. Perfect example Matty White, yes he makes mistakes but I never walk away from a game think he didn't fire a shot, didn't bust his guts. Ditto Luke McGuane never think after a game Luke didn't give his all, sorry but I cannot say the same thing about young Tyrone
Nahas gets dropped but because of an injury to Ellis gets a reprieve. Errr NO ..... he wasn't originally dropped for structure, because we had someone we needed to bring back in he was dropped because he was CRAP against Melbourne. Therefore, IMHO it's back to Coburg completely not plonked in with the emergencies. The emergencies should be those who are next in line for a game becaus eof consistent form at Coburg
Lonergan plays 2 games back from injury at Coburg of which 1 was good and gets a game because it would seem we were playing his old team. Again errrr NO.... play because he's going to offer something not for sort of pointless sentimental reason
As said right at the moment I just don't care anymore
-
:clapping
Yer outside Grigg the others were just my ridiculously long list of blokes who we need to get out. Forgot about Vickery because I forgot he actually played. :whistle
I don't mind Houli but maybe that's because of all the other rubbish I listed who need to go before him. At least he ran to create space.
I thought Newman was good on the weekend but you're right he often coasts through games.
Whether Lonergan becomes a coaster or not he's poo and shouldn't be playing over kids like Helbig and Arnot.
I posted a big rant about Dimma and selection on BF and I'll copy and paste it in the Sack Hardwick thread in a minute. Hopefully it formats well because I'm lazy :lol
-
Get some kids in there. I can't see us winning so blood them. Also get lids back to the back flank and hopefully have better disposal through the middle.
Morris......Rance......Batchelor
Houli.......Chaplin.....Deledio
Newman...Axel...Vlaustin
Edwards....Vickery....Arnot
Jack.......Griff.......King
Foll: Maric.....Cotch....Martin
Int: Grigg....Jacko....Elton/Astbury sub: McDonough

RICHMOND
ON THE BLOCK: Time to push off the MCG fence and deliver some thunderbolts. Robin Nahas was in the gun of every Richmond fan on Saturday night after two horrendous turnovers during Essendon’s second-quarter blitz. He redeemed himself with a goal later but has struggled to hold his spot this season and might find himself on the outer again. Tyrone Vickery was barely sighted before being subbed off, Jake King had four kicks and four clangers, Steve Morris couldn’t get near Jobe Watson while Luke McGuane, Sam Lonergan and Shane Edwards butchered the ball. With stars Brett Deledio, Jack Riewoldt and Ivan Maric also down, it’s a miracle the Tigers got within 29 points.
ON THE CUSP: Not many banging down the door after Coburg went down to Port Melbourne by 55 points in the VFL. Among the better players were Matt Dea, Mat Arnot, Brad Helbig and Matt McDonough, while Aaron Edwards remains an option as a lead-up forward. A left-field possibility could be 202cm teenager Liam McBean, who has shown a bit in the air and in front of goal, kicking another three yesterday.
AL PATON’S FORECAST: A long and season-defining week at Punt Rd before next Monday night’s clash against the Eagles in Perth. It’s Richmond’s last match before a bye so Damien Hardwick won’t hold back at training. His players were inexcusably listless in another big-stage encounter against Essendon, with their inability – and seeming unwillingness – to take risks particularly exasperating. The Tigers responded to a similarly disappointing display against Collingwood a few weeks back by almost pinching the points against Fremantle in Perth. They’ll need to go one better this time to keep their finals dream alive and kicking going into the Round 11 bye.

Watched the Coberg game on the weekend and if we are serious about not gifting games to anyone then there wouldn't be to many changes. I really couldn't believe how bad most of our Richmond listed players were.
The only two that stood out or me were Dea, who I thought played really well and looked a level above most of his team mates, and Arnot who I thought ran and got to the right places.
So my ins and outs are as follows-
Outs- Batch, Nahas, Grigg, Lonergan
Ins- Dea, Arnot, Edwards, Big O (would play both Ruckman this week)
Really need to lock down on a few other there onballers this week otherwise with them getting first use of the ball from stoppages with Nic Nat and Big Cox it could get ugly. Even Cotch, Lids and Dusty need to show more respect to their opposition. Take away their assets and make it a dog fight.
Also playing the two ruckmen and Vicks, play one forward at all times, one in the ruck in the middle third of the ground and the other behind the ball and to do the ruck work in the back third of the ground and to be a kick behind the play.
In our forwardline teams always get a second or third man up to spoil so we really need to separate. Even to the point of Vicks and the other pocket starting out near the boundary line as a starting point. Play A Edwards out of FF and give him some room.. And Jack to play CHF. And the other Edwards to play in the forwardline also. We need to be more dangerous in there than we have been.
This really could be a line in the sand game if DH would try something new and let the boys attack!! None of this chip kicking shyit. Move the ball quickly!!

RICHMOND - In the Mix
The Tigers aren't expecting Brandon Ellis (hamstring) and Ricky Petterd (calf) back before their round 11 bye but Reece Conca (foot) has been listed as a test. While Conca would probably love to play in front of his home crowd in Western Australia, the enticement of another game off in front of the bye might see him miss. Brett O'Hanlon (ankle) is also listed as a test while the Tigers have reported Brett Deledio suffered no structural damage to the knee he injured in the second quarter on Saturday night. First-year forward Matt McDonough was best for the VFL side on the weekend and has been playing well for a few weeks now. - Jennifer Phelan

Who is this Al Paton anyway? The lead singer of Faith No More or some drawpin patriarch?
-
I thought paton was either,a former hawthorn ruckman or a slightly loony WW2 US army general
-
A number of blokes will get a lucky break this week given our injuries. Having said that I would bring in some youth who I believe have the goods to make it at AFL level (McBean and McDonough) and tell them to just go for it as we have nothing to lose this week. We're unlikely to win anyway. The side is lacking intensity, run and exuberance. Sometimes young blokes come in and play with no fear.
In: McDonough, Arnot, McBean
Out: Nahas, Lonergan, McGuane
Maric should be rested as well so he has two weeks off with the bye but Big O's last couple of games haven't been anywhere good enough :-\.
-
TBH for the first time in my life I don't give a stuff. Pretty sad really.
only the first time?
:sleep
-
LMFAO can't say n00b now
-
In: McDonough, Arnot, McBean
Out: Nahas, Lonergan, McGuane
The sad thing is that doesn't look like we'll be losing much if anything as they will probably play just as good. Except maybe the Bean stalk as Mcguane can play but has seemed to trend downwards lately

Agree with big tone about playing both rucks, Maric will get towelled on his own, Orren is in better form anyways, and Vickery, while he reads it ok drifting across half back, you can't trust him in the ruck down back against a resting Cox, too dangerous for mine, being back the Big O.

Agree with playing the Big O and leave Vickery up forward. Having watched the Coburg game I was impressed with Astbury's game. He laid a great tackle in the first half and his disposal was composed throughtout deserves a recall.

As far as outs go - put Jackson, Grigg, Nahas and McGuane up against a wall and shoot them. That way, I'll never have to see them in a Richmond jumper again. Hey, I can dream can't I? ;D

Nahas McGuane Out
Arnot Astbury IN

LMFAO can't say n00b now
You can't insult, big difference
calling someone a newb is a bit soft for a censorship its about as bad as calling someone a greenhorn

Do we really care who comes in. We are still a very average side with a bad culture of rewarding mediocrity
Our season is shot. We won't make finals just making up the numbers now.
