RICHMOND
THE BIG IMPROVER: Shane Edwards.
He's spending more time in the midfield and is averaging nearly 20 disposals a game. He's ranked second in tackles at the club – an area the side has struggled in this year – behind Daniel Jackson, second in contested possessions behind Trent Cotchin and third in clearances behind Cotchin and Brett Deledio, and his delivery inside 50 has been impressive. It's the improvement of players like Edwards has helped the Tigers take a step forward.
COULD DO BETTER:
In round 10, Damien Hardwick decided to try a new forward combination and brought Aaron Edwards into the team in favour of Luke McGuane. Since then, and despite McGuane's positive start to the season that involved multiple goals in the first five games, Edwards has held the spot of the third forward. McGuane has continued to find the goals in the VFL but he's clearly not doing something the coaches are after as he hasn't played seniors since round nine.

S Edwards the big improver? Could have at least said Grigg and been more accurate.
A Edwards been pretty good til last week.
Can't help but think the age writers have a dose of the poos

The biggest improver this year has been Ellis IMO. Started the year as the sub but now we miss him badly when he's not there.
The biggest disappointments have been the ones that haven't come on after 4 years on our list - Griffiths, Astbury (inj.)

:huh It's Griffs 4th year. He needs to start knocking the door down at Coburg and forcing the match committee's hand. He could find his place in our side as our 'swingman' switching between tall defence and tall forward which is becoming fashionable again it seems but that won't happen if his attack and influence at the contest isn't good enough for long enough to use a Dimma phrase. You see glimpses of him using his size and natural talent as he should be it's still just glimpses. The consistency isn't there that it should be (or at least starting to be) as a footballer in his 4th year in the AFL system. The clock is ticking. Even if he survives this year given his height and the theory that 200cm blokes take longer (no guarantee of that at the moment) then next year will his last chance to make an impact and have a breakout year.

Yes I agree.
Griffiths is the most disappointing player at Richmond this season.
I would've expected more by now
