Thats not my mail, we have a veritable warehouse of stars and with every club worth their salt looking to bolster their stocks n 2014, guess where they've set their sights :shh

Your mail is ass and always has been

I don't get it. I want to moan. :banghead

I am happy that players do not hold the club to ransom.
The days on overpaying players for mediocre performances are gone.
Geelong have set the benchmark on what players should be payed even after continual finals success.
I hope the club can hold its nerve!

Agree with gerks
As I posted on another thread salary cap management isn't just about looking at what it's going to be in 2014 but how to manage it to fit every player we want/need to keep as they come out of contract.
Look at Cotchin he is signed through the end of 2015. What happens if we pay overs for say Jack now and put him on a 5 year deal. What impact does that have on what we will need to do in 2 years time with Cotchin? Can just imagine the outcry if we can't afford to keep him because we've overpaid players who we contracted during this period
It is an on going program but can be done if all the players are on board. Look at Geelong that's what you want, that's model you've got to follow

Martin's manage-Ralph Carr.
Is that the same prick who managed and married Tina Arena, then stuffed her over?

I agree with this thread. In the last players agreement there was a clause that clubs had to spend 95% of their cap. At the time it was reported that Richmond was at 92.5, add to that the 2 x 6% annual increases to TPP and we are fine.
We could probably be a bit more creative about paying players too, the club needs to look at milking external marketing opportunities for all they are worth and do the best to blur the lines with income from outside employment. Everyone else is doing it, GWS are getting theirs funded and endorsed by Vlad. Dusty for example should be getting paid a fortune for his truck driving work and I'm sure we could a arrange a post-grad scholarship at a prestigious university for Dan Jackson, we should be aggressively exploiting loopholes in these areas where we can.

Just don't **** it up like GR did with Raines Cloke & Wood

If Hawthorn are allowed to play Franklin outside the cap as an ambassador i dont see why the **** we are not able to do the same thing.
