Hang onto Newman, Foley and Conca.

Refer to Melbourne's treatment of James McDonal re: Newman. That hurt them badly.

Conca and Foley are far from our worst.

Yeah and your point is?

He may tough, courageous etc but he isn't a good footballer and list time I checked that's the main part of his job

How about we pay Vickery a quarter to half of his weekly salary to coincide with his quarter to half game cameos that he produces on a weekly basis.

Newman very over rated. I was happy for him to pop his finals cherry initially and loved it when he kicked a goal, but when I saw him limping around and being ineffectual in the 2nd half when we most needed our leaders to stand up, I realised top clubs wouldn't have compromised the team for an individual like we did playing a clearly not 100% player.

But said it yesterday - no room for sentiment in finals, we played Newman for all the wrong reasons yesterday and it bit us on the behind

You gonna compare Juddy to Newman bj? Big difference in output so not really a relevant point. McLean did the team thing and pulled out...

Newman will be fit next year. See how he goes then.

His kicking and toughness is still some of our best.

Shouldn't have played maybe.

How about Judd and Scotland yesterday even Mitch Robinson at quarter time.
All 3 boys tore us a new one at some stage yesterday.

Titch Edwards hardly sighted.
Newman was spent in the second half.
Riewoldt struggled with his knee.

Yet Foley was dropped given Carlton had outrun us twice already this season.

As much as this game was lost in the second half it was also lost at selection on Thursday.

In hindsight I would have kept Orren as a legitimate chop out for Maric and Axel at the expense of Pettard  and the injured White. Newman  should have missed also.

stuffing right!

Its a stuffing travesty that this mob of vaginas can even wear the same jumper as "Saint Francis"

stuffing softie pussies the stuffin' lot of them. With their pansy, limp wristed, p00fta, faggott game plan/style. Makes me sick!  :banghead

And the coaches can get stuffed too. Hardwick is to stuffin' soft on them. Our forwards coach whoever the stuff he is, wouldn't get a job at devon meadows reserves. And I thought Chocco was supposed to be some sort of hardarse and get the best out of them? Did he loose his stuffin' voice after half time?
Or maybe dusty was blowing him whilst he practiced hook turns.  :banghead

If T-shirt tommy was coaching there's no way we'd lose to those motherfuckin cheating scum tankers that didnt deserve to be there!

The club can go and get stuffed!

Newman landed awkwardly on his ankle in a contest & injured his ankle. It restricted him for the rest of the game. We were injured & 1 down so you can't blame him. Same as Deledio jarred his knee in a contest. We had already lost Conca very early. Jackson hurt his ankle & was taped & restricted. Kingy had tightened. Rewoldt should never have been on the park & a useless player under pressure anyway, A sook who looks at the umpires more than chasing his opponent. It runs in his family  ;D The coaches had limited soldiers to choose from to give us run & that's why we were slaughtered in the end but they tried & that's the most important thing to learn from. Tucky re-injured his shoulder & was carrying that. is the reason he needed to retire. So never take injured players into a big game that your season depends on. Simply we don't have the option like other clubs,  That have players  that are able to come into the side at the elite level. As for Shane Edwards we have seen the last of him. But his worthless. How this player has stayed in the AFL on his ability. Forgot to mention Maric who has been managed for that game. he sucked it up like Judd for the game. We should have taken Stephenson into the game.

Yep saw that but still reckon going by how he was moving prior to that he wasn't right to play.

You could tell he had a "jab" pre-match. Newman not being able to kick 45m tells me he wasn't right and shouldn't of played. When a players number 1 strength is negated because they are carrying an injury into a game then you make the hard call, take the sentiment out of it and not play him

l know what your saying WP but we don't have the players to replace them as we like.

How many players get a pre-match jab & received one Sunday  ;D  l'm not going to mention any names as it could be damaging  :shh but 8 players l know were carrying from previous games. S Edwards had no excuse so rule him out  :lol

I know players get jabbed Monk, know it happens all the time

But I reckon if the player in question hadn't been Newman then they wouldn't have even tried.

It's one thing to jab knowing they'll get thorugh and give you 90% output it's another to jab them and hope they will get through. In Newman's case I believe it was the latter with the belief that him being out there would be a lifter for the side.

part of Edwards problem outside of just being plain terrible on the day was he had played 1 game in a month bought on by his own stupidity getting suspended for round 23. His lack of match conditioning showed up like a beacon in the ocean

Newman was traveling ok until he landed on the ankle in a contest which caused him to land that way. Any player would have been proppy after that. we were winning all day & it was only due to injuries & fatigue to our other midfielders they got on top of us. Maric also being managed is no superman & l reckon we should have went into the game with Stephenson & left out S Edwards. Stephenson could have been used up in the goal square which would have required then to maybe try Waite down there which would have been another bonus for us in winning as Waite was awesome. Tired maric & tired mids brought Judd & others into the game. God surely someone could have maned Judd at the bounce. That's a coaching problem

At the end of the day, none of them is a Chris Judd.

Judd is a champion and showed again that we don't have a player to match his leadership.

At least next year they've all played a final and there is no need for sentiment anymore and we can worry about actually winning.  :shh

That first shot at goal spoke loudly. Newman fully fit would have slotted that
