Richmond moves to secure Damien Hardwick until the end of 2016

RICHMOND is making moves to extend Damien Hardwick's coaching contract until the end of the 2016 season.

The club has held informal talks about securing Hardwick for the long-term, with an offer of two more years likely to be made over summer.

Hardwick’s contract expires at the end of next season. He was appointed for three years at the start of 2010 and given a two-year extension on the eve of last season.

Its the correct decision by the club because if we get off to a bad start against Carlton the journos who hate us will start the campaign to destabilise the club so Hardiwck should be signed this summer to make sure the Richmond haters dont have a foot to stand on in terms of destabilising the club.

Agree, or at least half way through his final year. Don't want it hanging over the club come the pointy end next year so I wouldn't leave it until the end but we certainly need to see sustained success.
